We stayed at Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro and found it great for a budget hotel. The cafe downstairs was very good, the room was comfortable but for me it was the exceptional reception staff who went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. We will definitely choose to stay their in the future.

for your comfy stay!

The Best Way to Get to Tokyo

Touching down in Tokyo is easier than you might think. Narita and

are your main gateways to this city. If you're coming from abroad, you'll likely land at Narita, which is a bit further out. No worries, though! The Narita Express will zip you into the city centre in no time. If you find yourself landing at Haneda, you've hit the jackpot for convenience. It's closer to the city, and with plenty of public transport options, you'll be exploring Tokyo before you can say "sushi."

Available Transportations for Getting Around in Tokyo

The capital of Japan is highly accessible with plenty of transport available to get around the city. Once you're here, you won't have to worry about renting a car or motorbike as public transport is incredibly reliable. Check out these options for a seamless holiday:

By Subway

Tokyo's subway system is renowned for its efficiency, cleanliness, and wide coverage. With over a dozen subway lines operated by various companies, travellers can easily reach almost any destination in Tokyo and its surroundings. Each subway line is colour-coded and numbered, making it easy to navigate even for first-time visitors. Furthermore, the stations are equipped with multilingual signage and helpful staff to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey for travellers.

By Train

Japan's extensive railway network stretches far beyond Tokyo, connecting the capital with cities and towns across the country. Within Tokyo, the JR Yamanote Line serves as a convenient ring line that loops around the city's main districts, including Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ueno. In addition, various other JR train lines and private railway lines traverse the city, providing easy access to popular tourist attractions and suburban areas. With frequent trains running throughout the day and night, travellers can hop on a train and explore Tokyo at their own pace.

By Buses

While Tokyo's subway and train systems are the primary modes of transport for most travellers, buses offer an alternative option to reach destinations not served by trains. Tokyo's extensive bus network covers areas not accessible by train, including residential neighbourhoods, scenic routes, and tourist attractions. Travellers can choose from a variety of bus types, including local city buses, express buses, and sightseeing buses, depending on their destination and travel preferences. In addition, buses offer a more leisurely way of sightseeing, allowing passengers to enjoy the beautiful cityscape while travelling from one location to another.
