You should buy tickets online first to skip the waiting lines. This museum is a great place to get to know how SG has been developing. It's not so huge but has clever layouts, which can truly surprise you. And don't forget the forest display with great smells and illustrations.

We enjoyed our visit here, as the museum is so well managed with very informative and interesting displays. The only thing that made us confused was actually Traveloka's booking detail, as it was written that we need to contact the museum to confirm our visit. We actually tried to contact the museum and just got the reply after we visited. We actually managed to visit without any issues as long as we came on the date as written on the booking, visit the foreign tourist booth and asked the staff to scan our QR code. At first the staff seemed a little bit unsure as if they weren't familiar with Traveloka's logo, but thankfully it went well because the QR code could be scanned.

About National Museum Of Singapore

Singapore's coolest history buff hangout? You bet! The National Museum of Singapore is the oldest of all museums in Singapore, rocking since way back in 1849! Back then, it was called the Raffles Library and Museum, but in 1887, it moved to its snazzy spot on Stamford Road, where it is today.

Think cool exhibits, interactive displays, and maybe even a special event or two. So, if you're looking for a fun dose of history (and maybe some killer Instagram pics of the grand architecture!) The National Museum is definitely worth a visit!

  • Last call: Remember, even though the museum closes at 07:00 pm, admission for the Glass Rotunda ends at 06:15 pm, and for all other galleries, it's 6:30 pm. So, plan your visit accordingly!

Fun Activities at National Museum Of Singapore

The National Museum of Singapore isn't just about dusty old stuff – it's a place where history comes alive with tons of fun activities! Here's a peek at what awaits:

1. Journey through time

Ever wondered what Singapore was like way back when? Dive into the Singapore History Gallery and explore ancient artefacts, interactive displays, and cool stories that take you on a trip through time.

2. Wander beneath a giant

Feeling small? Check out the Very Old Tree exhibition. This massive, 700-year-old tree has seen it all and you can learn its incredible story through multimedia installations and even climb through its roots!

3. Family fun time!

The museum isn't just for grown-ups. Kids and parents can unleash their creativity at Family Fun at the National Museum with special programs, scavenger hunts, and workshops tailored for little explorers.

4. Souvenir hunt

Found something at the museum that sparked your memory? Head to Supermama, the museum's homeware and souvenir store, and find the perfect trinket to take home a piece of history (or a cute tote bag!).

5. Food for thought (and your tummy!)

After all that exploring, refuel at Food for Thought, the museum's cafe. It's not just your average cafeteria – they whip up delicious dishes inspired by the museum's exhibits, making your lunch break a tasty history lesson!

Tips when Visiting National Museum Of Singapore

Ready to dive into Singapore's history at the National Museum? Awesome! But before you jump in, here are some handy tips to make your trip extra smooth:

1. Munchies and memories? Keep them separate

Food and drinks are a big no-no in the galleries. Save your snacks for the cafe or food court outside. Don't worry, there are plenty of delicious options to refuel after your historical adventures!

2. Ditch the flash and the stick

While capturing memories is great, flash photography and selfie sticks are a no-go in the galleries. Think safety first, and awesome pics second – your phone camera should do just fine!

3. Hands off the exhibits

Remember, these are precious pieces of history, not jungle gyms. Keep your fingers to yourself and avoid touching objects, leaning on displays, or using them as your personal armrest.

4. Plan your attack

The museum is HUGE, with tons of cool stuff to see. Decide what interests you most (dinosaurs? ancient treasures? modern art?) and focus on those galleries first. This will help you avoid museum overload!

5. Take a breather

History buffs rejoice, but even the most enthusiastic explorer needs a break. Don't hesitate to sit on the provided benches, grab a drink at the cafe, or step outside for some fresh air. Recharged and ready to go? Then back to the exhibits!
