Meeting time and location: Shuttle pick-up from various Cingjing homestays will be between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Exact pick-up times will be provided in advance by the staff.

Hehuanshan Dark Sky Park

Experience the beauty of Hehuan Mountain Dark Sky Park, Taiwan's first park certified by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) on August 2, 2019. Explore the area along Taiwan Route 14A, spanning from 22.1 km to 37.1 km, with a 500-meter extension on both sides. Discover five major stargazing points: Yuangfeng, Kunyang, Wuling, Songxue Lodge, and Xiaofengkou. Ensure quality stargazing by adhering to strict nighttime lighting regulations that protect nature, science, education, and cultural heritage.

Gaze upon a pristine, light-pollution-free sky filled with stars and the Milky Way. Join the Hehuan Mountain Stargazing Bus Tour, which launched a month-long trial in December 2019, supported by the Nantou County Government, and began regular service on April 3, 2020. Enjoy shuttle service from Cingjing every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, connecting to various homestays and returning to the park. Benefit from on-site astronomical explanations and receive clean, regularly washed warm jackets based on weather conditions.

The climate on the mountain is changeable, and there are occasional cloud waterfalls and misty mountains at night. Please prepare warm clothes to prevent low temperatures in the mountainous area. This tour also provides free thick coat rental service, and the coats are washed regularly and kept clean.

Stargazing etiquette: The lighting at the stargazing location is limited, so you should pay attention to your steps and avoid injuring or damaging other astronomy enthusiasts' equipment. If lighting equipment is used during stargazing, it must be turned downwards and not above the horizontal level. The flashlight should be wrapped in red cellophane or covered with red insulating tape to avoid affecting the stargazing experience of others. In addition, if astronomy enthusiasts are taking starry sky photography, please do not use a star pointing pen.

If you want to use aerial photography in most areas on Hehuan Mountain, you must apply in advance. If you are in need, please inform us three days in advance, and we can apply on your behalf to Taroko National Park, Nantou County Government, Cingjing Farm, etc.
