Just weeks after announcing it will fly from Brisbane to the Philippines, Jetstar has opened up a new route for Queenslanders; this time to the paradisical Cook Islands.
The new route from the Queensland capital to Rarotonga takes off next year. It’s the first direct flight to Queensland the Cook Islands. Previously, you would have needed to fly via Sydney or Auckland to get there.
Introductory fares on the route are just $249 each way.
At this stage, flights outside of the initial sale period aren’t for sale so the “regular” price of these flights is still unconfirmed.
And to sweeten up this sale even more, new Traveloka users can double-down on the savings by booking these flights through our app and using the promo code HELLOTRAVELOKA for up to AU$30 off.
The first flights to Rarotonga take off in May 2026. The $249 fares are still available from 9-27 July, 2026.
The direct flights are currently scheduled from 18 May until 30 July, 2026.
Flights depart Brisbane at 10:20pm and arrive in Rarotonga at 8:30am the following day. For the return journey, the departure from Rarotonga is at 10am, arriving back in Brisbane at 12:10pm.
The $249 fares are part of a flash sale, so you’ll need to book by 11:59pm on Thursday, 7 August.
Well, why wouldn’t you be? Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown describes the islands as “ the ultimate tropical island destination, renowned for some of the world’s most incredible crystal-clear waters, with Aitutaki lagoon recognised as one of the most beautiful in the world. The people of the Cook Islands, their culture and the many activities on offer are a drawcard for Australians.”
