What is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, is a form that must be completed when tourists are planning to visit Malaysia. Click on this link to fill out your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card.

We need to present the completed Malaysia Digital Arrival Card along with our passport to the immigration officers, upon arrival in Malaysia.

It's important to note that, the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card can be filled out a maximum of 3 (three) days before arriving in Malaysia.

Who needs to use the MDAC?

The MDAC is mandatory for all foreign citizens travelling to Malaysia, including Australians, except those who are also:

Citizens of Singapore
Holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Malaysian Permanent Residents and those with Long Term-Pass holders.
Holders of the General Certificate of Identity from Brunei Darussalam.
Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility holders.
Thailand Border Pass holders.
Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders.

How to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

Some information that needs to be provided when filling out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, includes personal data, passport number, date of arrival, mode of transportation (air, land, or sea), and the location or point of last departure.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC):

Open the MDAC website at https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main or scan the barcode displayed on the website.
Click on "Register" to begin.
Fill out the registration form with the required passport information and enter an active email.
Click "Submit."
Check the registered email inbox.Copy the PIN.
Revisit the MDAC website.
Click on the "Check Registration" bar/tab.
Enter the passport number, select Indonesia as the country, and paste the copied PIN from the email.
Click the PDF logo to download the MDAC file.

Automated gates service at Kuala Lumpur's airport (KLIA)

If you're on a direct flight from Austrlaia to Malaysia, you'll be flying into Kuala Lumpur.

Visitors from 10 countries - Australia, Brunei, Germany, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom - are entitled to use automated gates upon arrival and departure from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). However, first-time visitors to Malaysia from these countries cannot use the automated gates.

For the initial journey, tourists from these countries are required to submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card three days before arrival. Then, they need to register and verify their passports at the manual counters guarded by immigration officers.

You must also ensure that their passports are valid for six months or more to use the autogate service.
