Weekends are worth celebrating and Qantas certainly agrees. It’s been a while since we’ve seen AU$99 fares from the legendary Aussie airline, but now they’re back.
Here’s where you can go for $99:
There are more fares available at great prices. It’s a bit of a mixed bag of locations, but here’s all the deals available in this three-day weekend sale.
Travel dates vary a bit depending on the route, but we’re finding availability from as early as September 2025 and as late as July 2026 on some routes.
If you’re specifically eyeing those $99 fares, they’re available only in September and October for the Melbourne-Launceston route and September to November for the Sydney-Gold Coast route.
To get these prices, you’ll need to book by Monday, 25 August.
But, to sweeten the deal, if you're new to the Traveloka Australia platform, you can save up to an extra AU$30 by using our app. You can also get discounted hotels, activities and more.
Qantas Red Tail sales are sporadic, but relatively frequent. They pop up about once every month or two featuring different destinations including Asia and North America.
There are some regular sales periods where Qantas often features deals. These include:
Unlike Jetstar’s Friday Fare Frenzy and Virgin Australia’s Happy Hour, there aren’t any regularly scheduled Qantas sales.
Rarely, but yes! Before this sale, it had been a while since the airline dropped flights to below the $100 mark, in both March and April 2025 there were $99 flights available in a big sale featuring flights to and from Queensland.
The $99 fares were available on flights from Sydney to Gold Coast and Brisbane to Prosepine (Whitsunday Coast).
Since it returned twice already in 2025, hopefully we’ll see more of these cheap Qantas fares in the future.
