Here are the steps to book Lion Air tickets online:
Payments for Lion Air tickets can be made via bank transfer, and credit card.
For more information regarding available payment methods, please visit the Payment Methods page.
The Lion Air e-ticket serves as proof of your booking for Lion Air flights. Show your e-ticket at the Lion Air counter during check-in (either at the airport or online) to get your boarding pass. If you do not receive your e-ticket within 60 minutes after making payment, please contact Traveloka Customer Service immediately.
Lion Air (JT) is an Indonesian low-cost airline within the wider Lion Group. It began flying in 2000 and focuses on connecting Indonesia's cities and islands, with selected international services. Check the actual operating airline when comparing a group itinerary: Lion Air, Batik Air Indonesia (ID), Wings Air (IW), Batik Air Malaysia (OD) and Thai Lion Air (SL) have different policies.
For Australian travellers, Lion Air can be an onward Indonesian leg after an international arrival. Compare the flight into Indonesia and the domestic flight together, including airports, baggage, entry formalities and what happens if the first flight is delayed. Do not assume separately purchased tickets form a protected connection.
Read the airport codes on each flight. Check Jakarta (CGK) and Bali (DPS) against the airports on your ticket. Confirm the departure terminal for the operating airline and travel date.
On arrival from Australia, allow for immigration, baggage collection and any terminal transfer before the domestic departure process. A domestic boarding pass or online check-in does not remove the time needed for these steps. Include an overnight stay if the available flights do not leave a workable transfer.
Review the connection and baggage arrangements shown on the actual itinerary. Lion Group affiliation alone does not establish through-checking or automatic rebooking onto another carrier. Keep every airline reference and confirm how a change affects the remaining flights.
Lion Air's main role is domestic travel across Indonesia, with selected overseas services. Search the precise origin, destination and date, and filter by the actual JT flight where offered. Review the operating airline and any intermediate stops before buying.
The fleet includes Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 aircraft. Review the aircraft and seat map offered for your flight if the seating experience matters. Do not assume every Lion Air flight has the same cabin layout, equipment or onboard service, and distinguish a Wings Air-operated connection from a JT sector.
Lion Air Economy tickets purchased or rescheduled on or after 17 July 2025 include 10 kg of free checked baggage on domestic and international JT flights. Tickets purchased or rescheduled before that date follow their applicable earlier allowance. Check the issued ticket rather than assuming every low-cost fare has no checked bag.
The allowance belongs to the operating airline and ticket. Wings Air has a different checked-baggage policy, while Batik Air has its own cabin and checked limits. An allowance on a flight from Australia does not automatically extend to a separately booked Lion Air journey.
For a JT Boeing or Airbus flight, the published cabin allowance is one bag up to 7 kg, within 40 × 30 × 20 cm, plus a permitted personal item. Check the accepted personal-item category and pack within the actual limits.
A journey connecting with Wings Air's ATR aircraft uses the smaller 35 × 30 × 20 cm cabin dimensions listed for those connections. A bag that fits the mainline limit may therefore be too large for the connecting sector. Check the whole itinerary before choosing a cabin bag.
Lion Air offers additional allowance in 5 kg steps from 5 kg to 30 kg, with a maximum purchase of 30 kg per passenger. The published purchase deadline is six hours before departure. Review the flight and amount of additional allowance before paying, and retain the confirmation.
Compare the offered advance price with your expected total baggage. Excess weight above the free allowance plus any prepaid allowance is charged separately. Unused prepaid weight is not refunded; prepaid baggage can only be refunded with the ticket under the applicable conditions.
Prepaid baggage does not include surfboard or bicycle handling fees. Do not treat buying extra kilograms as confirmation that a special item has been accepted.
The published check-in process starts two hours before departure. Counters close 30 minutes before Indonesian domestic flights and 45 minutes before international flights; boarding gates close 15 minutes before departure. Allow enough time to finish the formalities and follow any more specific instructions for your airport and flight.
Carry the ticket itinerary and accepted government photo identification. For Australian travellers, keep the passport accessible for the Indonesian flight. Match the passenger name to the identification rather than relying on an airport correction.
The airline's published name-correction process closes 24 hours before departure and is not available at the airport. Name correction is different from transferring the ticket to another person. Contact the ticket seller promptly if you find an error.
Eligible Australian tourists can use Indonesia's e-Visa on Arrival or Visa on Arrival for a 30-day stay, extendable once for another 30 days under the applicable process. Have a passport valid for at least six months and an outbound ticket. Choose the visa appropriate to the purpose and length of the trip.
Complete the official All Indonesia Arrival Card within three days before arrival. The arrival card is separate from the visa. After entering Indonesia, a domestic flight does not create a new international entry permission; remain within the conditions and permitted stay of your existing status.
If visiting Bali, check the separate tourist-levy requirement and any exemption that applies to you. A domestic arrival into Bali should not be treated as proof that no levy is due. Keep the relevant payment or exemption evidence with your travel documents.
Review the selected flight's seat and meal options rather than assuming every fare includes them. Lion Air's published pre-booked-meal deadline is 24 hours before scheduled departure. Check that a purchased meal appears on the receipt for the correct route.
Paid pre-booked meals cannot normally be cancelled, transferred or exchanged, with a separate refund provision when Lion Air cancels the flight. Review the purchase conditions before ordering. Keep any seat or meal confirmation with the itinerary and recheck it after a flight change.
Compare the complete fare for the airline operating each sector. Lion Air's low-cost positioning does not mean its current Economy fare has zero checked baggage. A Batik Air or Wings Air option may carry a different allowance and set of services.
Compare bags, meals, seats, connections and change conditions alongside the ticket price. No group brand is automatically the cheapest choice for every traveller, and one airline's policy should not be applied to another simply because both appear in the same search.
For a Traveloka booking, open the booking details and review the available reschedule or refund request. Check the purchased fare, ticket-processing location, timing, replacement-flight availability, quoted fee and fare difference. The airline publishes different country-specific fee tables, so a charge quoted for one market should not be assumed to apply to every Australian booking.
Promotional fares can have stricter refund conditions than other fares. Do not assume a cash refund, airline credit or free date change without checking the actual rules. Airline-caused disruption can have separate options from a voluntary cancellation.
Act before departure where possible and retain the confirmed revised itinerary. A request is different from an accepted amendment, and changing one flight does not automatically move a separately booked onward ticket.
Include infants and children with the correct ages and documents. Confirm acceptance and any required paperwork for a very young infant with Lion Air before booking. An infant without a seat does not receive a separate free checked-baggage allowance under the published policy.
Arrange wheelchair or other assistance with the airline in advance. Explain what is required at departure, arrival and any connecting airport. Allow time for the agreed process instead of assuming a standard seat booking completes an assistance request.
Check acceptance, packing, dimensions, weight and charges for the actual sports item before travel. Some sports equipment can count within the checked allowance, while separate handling can still apply. Surfboard and bicycle handling is specifically excluded from prepaid-baggage purchases.
Confirm unusual or oversized items with the carrier before choosing a tight connection. A bag allowance does not guarantee space or acceptance for every item, and restrictions may differ on a sector operated by another group airline.
Compare nearby travel dates where your plans allow. Include the free checked allowance, any additional bags, seats, meals, transfers and connection costs in the total. No fixed weekday, advance-booking interval or return-ticket combination guarantees the lowest price.
Review any promotion, membership or seller benefit against the actual booking channel and fare conditions. Do not assume that a mileage programme or the airline's low-cost label determines the best ticket for your trip.
Ticket issue, check-in and boarding are separate steps. Before leaving for the airport, review the current flight details and the instructions for every sector of the journey.
