If your idea of a holiday means no crowds, no noise, and no phone signal, Lord Howe Island has your name on it. Only 400 tourists allowed at a time. No mobile coverage. And nothing but nature, reef, and fresh air to keep you busy. This is the island reset you’ve been hanging out for.
Whether you’re hiking Mount Gower or just lying back on the sand, you’ll feel miles away from everything (because you are). The only way in is by plane, so plan ahead and get booking.
Lord Howe Island Airport is only five minutes from the town centre. You won’t find taxis or buses because you won’t need them. Your accommodation will pick you up and drop you off for free. Most places are a short stroll or bike ride away. There are also a few rental cars if you want to take it slow and explore on your own.
Cheapest flights usually pop up from May to August. It’s cooler, great for hiking, and way less crowded. Expect higher prices from September to April, especially around school holidays and Christmas. With limited spots, book early or you might miss out.
Lord Howe Island is part of Australia, so no visa or passport is needed. Just bring a valid photo ID for check-in.
