What is a Flight Delay Certificate and how to get it?

If you’re experiencing a flight change while at the airport, you may be eligible for a refund. However, for a case like this, you may need to provide a Flight Delay Certificate to ensure your refund request is processed smoothly.

What is a Flight Delay Certificate?

A Flight Delay Certificate is an official document issued by the airline that confirms a change to your flight. This certificate includes important details such as the duration of the delay and the reason behind it.

The Flight Delay Certificate is specifically required when you experience flight changes while already at the airport. Without this certificate, your refund request may be rejected or take longer to process, as the certificate provides verified proof of the flight's changes, which is necessary to approve the refund.

If you’re already at the airport, this is how you can acquire a Flight Delay Certificate:

  1. Visit your airline’s counter and staff at the airport.
  2. Provide your flight details (e.g., flight number, date, or simply your e-ticket).

Once you have the Flight Delay Certificate, you must upload it as the document for your refund request in Traveloka.
