Place was nice, staff was very accomidating. Internet did not work up stairs in the room but they were working on it since it was the off season. Beaches are close and restaurants close were good. I would stay again when sent on business.

I stayed in Albion Hotel with 3 friends in july 2012. The staff at the hotel were very very helpful, they offered a 3rd bed to save 2 of us sharing a double at no cost on arrival. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and is around a 5-10 minute taxi ride from the main station and port terminal, We were offered breakfast in the morning which was all very good. We all enjoyed our time in Durres and were more than pleased with the hospitality and cleanliness the hotel and staff provided.

The hotel is on the main strip of hotels, but if you come from the port it is worth taking a taxi (organised by the hotel- do not get in just any "taxi"). The staff were fantastic, they couldn't have done more. In fact at one point a receptionist walked us to a bus stop, helped us buy tickets and took the bus with us to make sure we got to our destination. The hotel also exchanged euros for us at a very competitive rate, which meant we didn't have to run the gauntlet of trying to buy some LEK. The rooms are modern and well furnished, and each room has a lock and key so you can lock the inner rooms when you go out, which made us feel a lot safer. There is also a micro-brewery attached to the hotel (don't worry, there is no smell from it), and the beer is very decent- nice and watery which is good in the heat. The receptionists all speak good English and couldn't have been better hosts; we were nervous before visiting Durres (you have to be prepared for Albania), but if I ever return it will be to this hotel!

The hotel was clean and quiet off of the main street. The rooms are on the top two floors of the building. Double rooms can be made into triples with an extra bed. Staff was helpful and friendly.

I booked a room for two persons about two weeks before arrival. I chose this hotel as it seemed to have all conveniences. Two days before the actual night I received an e-mail from the hotel if we still planned to go there. I answered "Yes". One day before the booked day I received another e-mail informing me that they were receiving a group and our room was given to them. We were offered an apartment somewhere in the city instead of the hotel room. As a compensation they offered us four cups of beer and a glass of wine... I refused it and immediately searched for another accommodation. On the evening of the day when we were originally booked to I have received an e-mail at 7:30PM from them that they still can provide us a room. They sent another e-mail apologising for the inconveniences the next day. I have never heard about such a harsh and unpolite way of handling customers / hotel guests.

The hotel was not bad but the city is just so miserable that the negative vibes affect one in one's evaluation of the hotel as well .Outside the hotel entrance there was a steady number of stray dogs ,a regular sight at Durres .Once you stepped out into the street there was garbage everywhere and a general feeling of a town simply left to rot

Hotel room was ok but not worth the price I paid for it. Room had a balcony with nice views but very basic other than that. Shower and air con did not work. The beach nearby was a private one but wasn't informed. Close to bus service into the towns centre.

I should up at the hotel and it was completely trashy outside and trash outside. The manager said she wouldn't have a room available until noon. I came back at 12:30 and she she took me to this room with 3 children's sized beds and cartoon bedding to match. I could not believe it. She left and I went into the bathroom and lifted the toilet seat and it fell off. Then there was not any water for the toilet to flush. I went back to the front desk and said I wanted a refund and she said she would give me another guests room. The first room did not at all represent what the room was to be. She then took me took another room and before leaving she said there was not any water ant hopefully it would be working by 2 pm. I could not believe it and went and asked for a refund. I had just paid her in cash and she gave me my money back accept for 28€. Some how her trashy hotel is my problem and its classed under a 3 star rating. Hotels . Com has not been helpful in the past with issues and something's needs to be done about this.

This is one of those hotels that will constantly be in a state of "not yet finished." a lot of small things not completed or shakily done. Having said that, it is a good budget hotel near the beach, good for families. I would recommend to those on a budget.

If Durres is your destination, then this is a great hotel for you. Above all the customer service and friendliness stood out the most. When they found out we had kids, they brought a basket of toys to our room for them to play with. Anytime we had a question or a problem (i.e. air conditioner not blowing full force) they immediately answered the question or fixed the problem. The hotel is new and in great condition. They really do aim to please and you cannot go wrong with choosing this hotel. It is two blocks from the beach and we were at the beach in 5 minutes with kids. There are several places in the area to eat as well, but the restaurant serves good food too. The hotel is clean and the accommodations are good. It is a simple set-up without any over-the-top features, but none-the-less a good place to stay.

We were charged 360 Euro in local currency for one night instead of 36 Euro. Luckily we checked the online currency calculator to find the error, but the desk clerk claimed he was right; 46000 Leke. He finally gave up. The bathrooms are tiny and stupidly organized; when you sit on the toilet you can't stand up because the wash sink is directly ABOVE the toilet... you will have to see for yourself. The light switch is not by the door, rather it is hidden behind the closet BEHIND the door. The surrounding is very filthy, yet no worse than the major part of Durres which we will never visit again. Still, the VALUE of this hotel is OK, as long as you have very low expectations. If you're lucky you could come across the owners son who is fluent in English.

The hotel is located only a few minutes from the beach, many restaurants and small shops. The room was pretty big and sufficiently furnished. The staff was as helpful and kind as humanly possible and they made everything they could to make us feel good there, providing information on where to go and what to do, inviting us for coffee and letting us taste their home brewed beer. It is a family run business which adds to the welcoming feeling you get when arriving there. Although I wouldn’t recommend the city if you’re not into crowded places (including the beaches) and touristic restaurants, the old town is nice to visit (6km away - EUR 5.- for a taxi) and if you have a car, there are nice quiet beaches only about 15-20km away. And a trip to Tirana (40minutes away) is very easy to do and worth it ! The only thing that could be improved is to add AC because it was so warm we had to sleep with the window open and because of the train honking every time it passes, the stray dogs howling all night and the roosters yelling since 5am, it was a bit hard to get a full night of sleep. ;) Would definitely recommend staying in Albion hotel if you go to Durres.

This was totally not what we expected. The service was ok, but that was before we saw the room. Arriving to the hotel was when my doubts came up because it was inside the building blocks and the hotel building looked quite dirty. The reception was also small and the hallways were full of garbage. We also noticed that there was no stairs out of the floors, but only an elevator which was quite slow. When we finally got to the room it smelled like piss or womit. We left as soon as we could and checked in to another hotel. I don't recommend this one to anyone.

Dałabym hotelowi nawet piątkę, gdyby nie wydarzenia w ostatni dzień. blokowała sie karta do pokoju i dziewczyna recepcji dała nam kartę złamaną. Przed opuszczeniem hotelu właścicielka zażądała 5 Euro, bo twierdziła, że mąż musiał nosić ją w kieszeni z tyłu. Recepcjonistka miała w szufladzie multum uszkodzonych kart. Obsługa wspaniała , własciciele dusigrosze.
