Food, drinks and service was good. Pool and beach was beautiful however the construction all day every day ruined the vibe. The bed, pillows and linens were so bad we couldn't wait to leave. We asked if the beds were the same in every room and they said yes. Hotel line check-in vs sit down check-in was disappointing.

We booked at the Riu Palace Aruba family area but they moved us to the adult property which is the Riu Antillas. Ala Carte restaurants were packed and long lines before they open for dinner. Some are not accepting 2nd batch of guests after first batch in line were seated. We ended up eating at the buffet in our entire 4 nights of stay except for one. We didnt get waht we paid for. No enough staff to serve at the pool and beach side for beverages unlike other Resorts. Staff are nice though and Aruba Island is beautiful. Wont go back to this resort unless they make changes.

I would of rated everytime 5 stars but there was construction of one entire tower which i was not told about. The steakhouse was closef also due to renovations. Our first room which was a junior ocean front view on the 8th floor was horrible, it smelled of mold and mildew, everything was damp from moisture including the bed. It killed my asthma to stay in room. We moved the next day to the 9th floor and room was amazing. Hotel defenitely needs a renovations. Don't lose your wristband because they charge you $250 for a new one. Totally ridiculous. Pool was amazing, buffet was delicious. Would stay again once renovations are done and rooms are newly renovated

Good all-inclusive experience for families. I was pleased with the food quality and the evening entertainment. The pool is more adult-focused so for kids that aren’t strong swimmers, there are a few platforms they can play on but otherwise can’t touch and with no lifeguards- puts parents on full guard. Kids club very small but was nice for a half hour here or there.

When we first arrived, we were greeted with champagne- a nice touch! We were issued a room in the non-renovated part of the facility. It was so musty that 3 of 4 of us had difficulty breathing within minutes of stepping in. There was a king bed for 4 of us and a shower that was visible to everyone. We immediately requested a change and were told the hotel was full and they weren't sure what could be done. We ventured back to the lobby and were greeted by a very helpful employee who offered us a room key to another room in the main building so we could see if it was acceptable before we took it. We were pleasantly surprised! It was beautiful, had a view of the ocean and pool, an updated bathroom and everything we needed. We rushed down and accepted the room. Just like that, our vacation began. The staff was so nice. The amenities were amazing. Buffet was excellent- offerings for all pallets- best mojitos ever, entertainment was fun and lively. It was clean, safe, family friendly and had everything we could think of. We would come back in a heartbeat! Only downside was construction being done on one of the buildings- a little noisy, but the music by the pool, beach and everything else made up for it. Great experience!

The convenience of the location of Riu Palace was awesome. Everything we needed was right there within walking distance. Restaurants, shopping, Casinos were all within a short walk. The property was kept very clean and well manicured. The roomwe stayed in was fairly clean but needed some minor upgrades. For example, the light fixtures on the wall were pretty oxidized and the metal was peeling I am guessing from the salt water, but wasn't a huge deal. We did have one instance where we lost power and air conditioning in our room for a short time. I called the fron desk and they said someone would be right up, but they never came. Luckily, next to the mini bar, there was a fuse panel and I found the blown fuse, reset it, and we never had another issue. The Wifi is very sporatic and I could see the modem turn on and off multiple times per day, and night up on the wall where it was located. The food at the buffet is good and has something for everyone. If you want to get into the restaurants on site, go early or you won't get in, as they are small and only offer 2 seating per night in which we've seen a lot of guests that were discouraged by this. We went out and had dinner in town when this happened to us 1 night. The satff was very friendly and accomodating. If you want a hut down by the beach, get there early or you won't get 1! They had entertainment every night and the drinks were endless! We had a great time during our stay overall and would go back again without a doubt.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The food was good with a nice variety of options to choose from. The view of the ocean was beautiful, and the pool area was very nice and relaxing. The room was a bit outdated, and the floors were quite slippery, which was a little concerning. Still, a pleasant experience overall.

Our room was in the old time share tower- looks like this tower was not updated since 1987. The pull out bed for our kids would not even pull out all the way and the mattress was absolutely disgusting. My kids slept on cots all week. The food was mediocre at best- thankfully we chose to leave the resort for dinner every night- we were a large group and none of the restaurants could even accommodate us when we tried one night. This was our second time staying at the RIU - last year was wonderful. This year makes me think we will choose a different hotel next year.

Overall the property is run down, the room was definitely out dated and the fixtures are in bad shape. The Front Desk staff are rude, non-considerate and do not take anything seriously. They put us a family of 4 in a room with a king bed and a roll in cot. Not what I asked for which was a room with two double beds, when I asked to change rooms they told me there is nothing they could do about it and that is what we paid for. Also there were two elevators, one did not work and was then put out of service without notice, and then the second one did not work and when I called the front desk they just told me use the service elevator, there were no signs to let anyone know this. I had asked the front desk to make a reservation at a restaurant outside of the facility and they said no problem, when I went back later that night to make sure they did it, I was told they did not and that sometimes they are busy and forget. Called the restaurant and there was no longer any availability. They boast that they have 5 restaurants on location, however they do not tell you that they have a seating at 6 and you have to be there then to get seated, if not then you either get a buzzer to let you know when you can come back, or they tell you they are no longer taking seatings that night. Only saving thing was the buffet food was excellent and the staff in there is very friendly. Pool needs to be maintained better, many tiles are missing and at times it was dirty with stuff floating in it.
