Mates! Let me tell you: I had pretty low expectations, but given we had a big ute, 3 bikes and a bike trailer and planned to explore the city on bikes, and also, not having a crap load of disposable income, we booked this place.
I'm embarrassed to say: expectations were low. It looks like an old school motel from the 80s. But I tell ya what, I rate this place heaps. Here's a few things: service - friendly. Location - amazing. Right next to a bike path, boom, we cruising into the city in no time. Shops, heaps of restaurants, parks, pubs, whatever, it always seemed to be like a 2 minute bike ride or 5-10 minute walk.
And the shower... Didn't look like much. But I've stayed in a lot more expensive places that had showers that were a mere misty spray compared to this bad boy. Heat, pressure, baaaaah, it had it all, coming at ya. 2 double beds and a banging shower for a bargain rate. Ill recommend to anyone going to Canberra, don't waste your money on hoighty toighty hotels, this place is exactly where you wanna be. Well, it was for us anyway.
Also, room was big. We had 3 bikes, a bike trailer and a pram. And we kept them all inside and still had space to crawl around with our baby.

We were staying in Canberra for one night, was very happy to get a very reasonably priced room with 2 double beds, quite dated but very large room which was fantatstic, comfy beds too. Good sized TV but no Netflix capabilities.

Convenient location to Dickson and tram to epic or city. The buildings are very tired and in need of updating especially bathrooms. Minimal facilities in room. Fridge and microwave jug available but no cutlery or crockery. Clean but hard bed, aircon and electric blankets available. Minimal staff

We booked a room for 3 people for 4 nights.
There were only towels for 2 on arrival and toilet seat was detaching - my husband fixed.
Dirty cups were not washed after the first day and bed was not made after first day. Not enough milk provided for tea for three.
Air conditioner was extremely noisy and we had to turn off at night as it was too noisy to sleep. We turned fridge off as it was also too noisy.

When I decided to stay, they claimed there was free internet. Suddenly, you only get 600MB, and then suddenly, there is no internet at all. It is very slow, and even your phone doesn’t work. This is a scam—they call it free internet!
and also the sink in the bathroom is constantly leaking, and you also have to ask for plates bowls, iron and toaster. Don’t recommend long stays

Had a call at 6.40 asking if we would ne arrivong before 7, i aaid that on the website it says check in is up till 9 and she argued with me that it didn't. I received the details on how to get into the room at 7.03am on the next day, luckily a staff member helped us out on how to get into the room.

There was no toaster in the room. Nor was there any crockery and the only cutlery was 2 teaspoons! There were 2 cups and 2 glasses, but that was it. We had bought food with us to eat in the room but were forced to eat out...even for breakfast! Just as well my husband bought his own bowl/spoon so he could have his cereal. A very poor show, indeed.
Also, there was no remote control supplied to the room for the air conditioner. I had to get down on the floor to read the controls to work the damn thing.
There was a constant noise in the bathroom like someone had left a tap running in another room (or a running toilet) but was not heard from the bedroom so that was ok, I guess.
The crappy shower curtain did nothing to improve our stay, either, as the glass door had obviously been broken and a quick, shoddy repair was needed.
Knowing all this, I don't think we will stay there again. Not much money had been spent and it was in serious need of a modern upgrade. Cheap operators out to make a quick buck don't impress me at all.
Overall, I give this hotel 2 stars out of 5.

The room is quite spacious, plenty of parking spot. 15 minutes to Parliament house by car. But doesnt have shampoo and conditioner, and only 1 utensil, a small teaspoon that is soooo stain, very dirty.
