Canterbury International Hotel

Clean & comfy. Easy to find. Plenty of well lit parking. Woke during the night & my only thought was how comfortable I was. Great nights sleep.

When people in the next room were smoking inside it wafted into our room - the staff quickly found us a new room and dealt with the issue quickly - staff on for breakfast were lovely and helpful

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be staying again later this month.

Bed was great. Location convenient albeit at a very noisy intersection of six-lane roads. Ask for a room not facing the street!

SERVED ITS PURPOSE I was in Melbourne on a business trip, seeing customers in the Forest Hill area. The Canterbury Hotel was as described / appropriately priced / and quite comfortable for a 2 night stay. Spacious bathroom. Quieter than I thought it would be. Good WiFi. Easy parking. Aircon is old and clunky. Bed wasn't the softest. TV is quite small. Desk chairs are horribly uncomfortable. It's not The Ritz. But they don't price as though it is either...

Everything was very nice and i had a lovely stay with my partner for the weekend the only down side to it was we paid to have breakfast included af 7 am and it was never ready at 7 we had to wait 30 mins for a hot breakfast the first day we had just cereal and toast and hot tea and coffee but the hot food didn’t come out until 7:35am and then the next morning at breakfast same thing. Maybe don’t tell guest that breakfast is at 7 when really hot breakfast doesn’t come out until 7:30am.

The hotel was chosen for its location to family I’m visiting. The facilities are okay, though some places showed signs of wear (wall, lamp shades). The breakfast was great, hot in the weekend, continental on weekdays.

I liked everything accept it's too far from the city.

This was second time we stayed here. They upgraded our room to spa room because our standard room somehow not quite ready. The room quite old but what matters is clean and comfy. I did not expect much for the breakfast but actually was good. Definitely best value for money and will not hesitate to come back in the future.

My recent stay at your hotel presented several significant concerns regarding the overall guest experience. Upon arrival, the primary entrance from which we entered lacked clear signage directing guests to elevator access for the second-floor reception. This necessitated carrying heavy luggage up the stairs. Even when contacted by phone, reception did not proactively guide us to an accessible entrance with a lift. The room assigned was located directly facing a main highway, resulting in considerable noise disturbance throughout our stay. When I requested a quieter room, the receptionist was initially resistant. Although I agreed to pay an additional charge for an alternative room on the opposite side of the lobby, I was then informed that a change was not possible without paying for both rooms, as I had briefly used the toilet and housekeeping had departed for the day. This policy felt inflexible and did not prioritize guest comfort. Furthermore, the complimentary breakfast was a notable disappointment. It was poorly cooked, lacked flavor, and offered very limited options. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the breakfast service to future guests. These aspects combined highlight areas where improvements in guest communication, flexibility, and service quality could significantly enhance the experience for visitors.

Great stay, big room, very peaceful and quiet.

We had a very quick overnight stay at the Canterbury International, the room was a good size with great facilities! The bed was extra comfy, only downfall was felt rather aged and dated. Otherwise good service

The price was amazing, bathroom, shower and towels were excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the television a good size for the room. Some street noise and average staff were just slightly on the negative, in all we enjoed our stay.

Very spacious room, large comfy beds. Easy access to parking. Breakfast was good. Will stay again.

Nice and quite. Good staff. We were in 221 the under curtain is very tired, need replacing. There were no face washers. Other wise good.

First time I’ve stayed at the property and was very pleased overall. The only issue was the room I had faced Springvale Rd and it was a little noisy at times. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
