The Darwin International Airport is the city's main airport, connecting it with major Australian cities and international destinations.

Why is Darwin such a must-visit place? Because there are beautiful natural landscapes all around it, including the nearby Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park, and Nitmiluk National Park.

These areas showcase Australia's unique flora, fauna, and breathtaking landscapes. The city has a laid-back and friendly atmosphere, making it a pleasant destination for those seeking a relaxed and welcoming environment

Palms City Resort
Palms City Resort is a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in March 2024. The staff are extremely courteous and most helpful. The room we stayed in was on the 2nd floor and was spacious and serviced all our needs. It only has two floors and stairs up to it, but they are not arduous. It has a pool which is big enough to do laps in. The grounds are its best asset. Surrounded by lush palms, native trees and shrubs, it looks like a hotel you would expect to see in tropical Qld. It is a very quiet and peaceful hotel, despite its central location. The location is excellent. It is only a 10 min walk to the main centre of town and right next door to a pub we really enjoyed: The Hotel Darwin. It is right opposite the memorial gardens that lead onto the harbour and at night the sunsets are worthy of photos and meditative relaxation. One of the highlights for us was Pickles, a gorgeous green-cheeked Conure who regularly sits at reception and greets the guests. If we have to be picky, our only complaint is the design of the bathroom vanity, which due to its design becomes flooded with water when you wash your hands or face. We had to continuously wipe it dry with a towel. But that is a mere detail. Otherwise we would highly recommend this hotel.
