More about hotels in Macedon Ranges
Where to stay in the Macedon Ranges
The Macedon Ranges include several separate towns, including Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Lancefield. For a short break, choose whether you want a room at a town-centre pub or a stay on a larger property. Macedon Ranges Hotel & Spa and Holgate Brewhouse illustrate that choice, with different dining, room and arrival arrangements.
Macedon: spa-bath rooms, with meals planned off site
Macedon Ranges Hotel & Spa is at 652 Black Forest Drive, Macedon. Its Classic Room is on the ground floor, with a two-person spa bath and a king bed that can be made into two singles on request. Superior and Deluxe rooms are upstairs. The Family Room offers two kings or a king and two singles on request, and its amenities list stairs.
The hotel currently has no restaurant on site. Classic Room equipment includes a microwave, bar fridge and toaster for simple food preparation. The shared indoor pool is unheated, with a separate hot tub; the spa bath in your room is a different facility.
Reception closes at 3 pm Monday to Saturday and 1 pm on Sundays and public holidays. Later arrivals use a key safe beside reception, with retrieval details sent by text. This makes the arrival message useful even for an afternoon check-in.
Woodend: a room above the brewhouse pub
Holgate Brewhouse At Keatings Hotel is at 79 High Street, Woodend, with accommodation above its pub. Mountain View rooms are larger than the standard category and include an additional double bed. Village View rooms have ensuites, and one has a smaller adjoining room with a double bed. The Alley Room is the smallest option and looks onto the alley and High Street rooftops.
Holgate lists hotel check-in from 2 pm to 7 pm. For a family or friends sharing, request the specific additional-bed or adjoining-room configuration rather than assuming it comes with every Village View booking.
