Novotel Darwin CBD

Even though the staff were excellent,the building needs to be refurbished. Very run down.

It’s pretty dated and is in need of updating.

The room wasn’t always made up on the day. The building and rooms need a face lift.

The property offers excellent facilities, with a stunning atrium and a well-presented restaurant area that made dining a pleasure. The pool area is inviting, although it can feel a bit cool in the late dry-season afternoons as the building next door blocks the sun. Unfortunately, the spa isn’t heated, and there’s no sauna available. While the overall stay was enjoyable and the location is very convenient, the rooms could use some refurbishment. The bathrooms, in particular, feel dark and dated, and the ventilation fans don’t do enough to clear moisture. Overall, this is a comfortable and well-situated place to stay, but some updates to the rooms would make it even better.

This property was conveniently located on the Esplanade. Check in was simple and quick however zero engagement by the person checking us in. The rooms we stayed in (2 bedroom apartment) was pretty average and I was expecting more from Novotel especially considering the cost ($1100.00 for 2 nights). Floors were heavily stained. Rooms were very tired. Greeted by cockroaches in the kitchen and the bathroom was really not up to standard with lots of mould present in the shower and toilet (can scratch off easily with a fingernail so surely can clean off by scrubbing - clearly had not been scrubbed for a long time). Makeup from the previous person was on the tiles around the basin. Overall was disappointed and glad we were booked informed the remainder of our stay elsewhere.

Stayed 4 nights with friends. Hotel is grubby and rundown and very short staffed. The rooms were dirty and dank with tiny showers it needs a whole deepclean ! Very dissappointed. The manager needs to be fired.

Great location and clean, the lobby is lovely but it all needs refreshing and updating.

Unfortunately, our stay at this Novotel was not up to expectations. The room we were allocated backed onto a neighboring hotel that played loud music until 3:00 AM, accompanied by disruptive noise from individuals outside well into the early morning. What was most disappointing is that we were moved from our original waterfront view room at the front of the hotel to a room at the rear, facing the source of the noise. This significantly impacted the quality of our stay.

It was excellent for a short business stay. Staff were very good

Parking was a little confusing having to park next door. Otherwise a nice overnight stay.

Nice lobby with hanging plants and attentive staff

Location great. Hotel very beautiful. The indoor plants make the hotel look cozy. They did housekeeping every day. So it was nice to come back to clean room. Breakfast very basic but it was filling. Overall it was great place to stay and we definitely come back again!!

The Novatel Darwin is my number 1 go to when I want to stay in Darwin city center. Amazing interior and the splendid sea views along the Espinar'd are great, Cheers John Burke

Great location with a room overlooking harbour & views along the esplanade. Easy access to CBD.

It was not as clean as we were expecting. There's a damp smell in the room. We found two cockroach inside the room. The bedsheet smells like they were not fully dry. Disappointing

Would have given 5 stars but for the plastic chrome coming of bathroom fittings. Despite a refit, I am sure that these items are original from when I first stayed here 25-30 years ago.

Have stayed here previously and found staff very pleasant and our stay enjoyable.

Just needs some updates. Front of property messy in garden, torn canopy over restaurant. Tired looking. Needs a pool bar,zero ambiance there. I was the only person in the pool most of the time. Cleanliness was great. Housekeeping staff amazing, front of house fantastic and bar staff. Clean rooms and crispy white sheets. Lovely. Just needs new carpet and a spruce up because location is fabulous away from noisy Mitchell st, near the harbour. Food was fantastic, shout out to the chef. Most amazing steak dinner. The atrium is absolutely beautiful. Great ambiance there. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you can look past its tiredness. Higher floor would be amazing view of harbour.
