Loved staying here, there were free snacks and also very close walking distance to surfers paradise and the beach. They even provided free beach towels! Great hotel and reception was super nice too. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately there were already no rooms available.

We initially were staying in a Deluxe King room, which was neat, tidy, cozy, and clean. The Island gave directions for parking (across tram railway and in the side alley) and reception was easy to find, and service was very friendly and professional.
There was a technical issue with the toilet in this room, which can happen anywhere at any time, and after speaking with reception, we were upgraded to the King Suite room free of charge (that's really great service, they could have easily put us in a room of the same time, but upgraded us instead for the inconvenience).
The King Suite was spacious, clean, modern, and a bigger version of the Deluxe King room, with a complete kitchennette, bathroom etc, and we had the views we were hoping to get.
All round, we had a fantastic stay, and they even let us leave the car in the carpark a little bit longer after check out so we could go do some shopping and get some food before coming back home, which another hotel would not allow us to do without charging us $30, so it was really nice and very professional for The Island to do this for us.
All round, we rate this above anything else we have stayed at so far. Cheap prices, amazing rooms, amazing service, safe area, nice facilities...all round, a gem in the heart of Surfers.
We will absolutely be staying here again, 10/10.

Property condition and facilities: Bed and pillow were clean and comfortable. Place was clean except the bathroom sink was not working properly, drainage problem i suppose. There was a very small fridge, no ironing facility but upon asking for one, staff provided us with the clothes steamer.
Overall sink wad the biggest problem, everything was do able.

This hotel has restaurant, bar, game room, music, good view of the ocean. Room was standard size with a balcony. Beach was one block away and many places are close by to eat. Hall way carpet needed to be vacuumed,

The room was clean and looked pretty much like the photos online which was a pleasant surprise.
Would only recommend a lick of paint on the outside to match the updated interior.
Definitely stay here again due to the quality and price point.

Checked in here for 1 night and liked it so much, we booked for a 2nd night!
Really fantastic hotel - decor in reception area lovely and bar and restaurant superb - especially roof top area! Great vibes.
Food was awesome - we ate at their restaurant (Goldies) for both evenings! Can really recommend the steak but to be honest, everything that came out looked and smelt amazing!
Staff went out of there way to chat to us and give us recommends on what to do / where to see etc. Location is ideal - one block back from the sea/beach but very central to everything and walkable to everywhere!
Would highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again if we returned!
