Royal Kahal Beach Resort

My family vacationed at this death trap 12/28/2024 - 1/2/2025 and barely made it out with our lives. We were hospitalized 3 times while staying at the Royal Kahal. With limited testing at the hospital it was believed to be food poisoning. But how does a healthy family get food poisoning 3 times in a week? They don't and it turns out it was carbon monoxide poisoning. We are very lucky to not have the same fate as the 3 young women who just lost their lives due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Very dangerous and dishonest place, please don't stay here!!!

very clean off the beaten path. unbeatable views

Excellent location right on the beach, very clean and friendly staff, and a very quiet and relaxing place. The rooms were very clean and very well maintained. Everything walking distance. Good food and drinks at a very reasonable price.

Beautiful Hotel

This is a beautiful place to stay. Our suite had a stunning view of the ocean. It was clean, and the staff were incredible. The location is prefect, away from the loud main strip of San Pedro, but not too far out. Three pool was perfect, in the sun on the morning, and shaded over by the heat of the afternoon. The water taxi is right next door and the airport not far. We cooked in the kitchen and ate in the restaurants, nice to have both options. We would stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at Royal Kahal Beach Resort from February 17th-21st. The staff was exceptional—front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, bartenders, and beach staff went above and beyond. The beauty of San Pedro, Belize, and the warmth of its people made this trip unforgettable. The rooms were spacious, beautifully detailed, and well-equipped with conveniences like multiple bathrooms, a washer/dryer, and a living area. The ocean views were breathtaking, and the resort's location on the beach, close to the port for excursions, was perfect. It’s ideally situated near restaurants, activities, and shops. However, I cannot, in good faith, rate the hotel highly due to serious safety concerns. On February 18th, our carbon monoxide detector went off with levels above 400. Despite informing the front desk, the staff seemed unfamiliar with the issue. Maintenance suggested turning off the gas, but the CO levels remained dangerously high. We were left feeling uneasy. The next morning, a friend reported dizziness, which we now suspect was from CO exposure. While the hotel is beautiful, the lack of CO detectors is concerning. I urge management to address this for the safety of future guests.

Excellent location, helpful friendly staff. Spacious modern rooms. We had issues with air conditioning not working for over two days and were begrudgingly assigned another room by management. Our smoke and carbon monoxide detector went off while we were sleeping and wouldn’t stop. Resort staff responded quickly, the “fix” was the remove the detector from the ceiling. I hate when people leave nit picky reviews but this is just a few of the things we noticed at this brand new luxury resort. Resort management needs to complete their punch list to succeed at this level. Bottom line the resort has a ton of positives. Great staff being first and foremost. We never expressed all of the little things we noticed with management but we were on vacation and wanted to relax. Maybe a year from now the kinks will be worked out but we’ll probably find another place to stay.

From the time we checked in to the moment we checked out our experience was top notch. Beautiful rooms and friendly staff.

We were happy with every aspect of our stay. The staff always exceeded our expectations and I was happy to see a security guard always posted out front.

The staff is amazing! We will definitely be back. Great location to go anywhere in minutes and quiet enough to walk out and lay out on beach and read. Love!!!

My wife and I chose Belize for our anniversary. Our stay at the Royal Kahal Beach resort was amazing. Staff was Uber friendly, and made our stay. Very memorable. Thank you Burt for making us feel very welcome. I would recommend this place 10 out of 10 times and we will definitely be back again.

Resort will be perfect once the onsite restaurant and pool bar opens. This resort has great potential once everything is open. Front desk agent and staff were great. Anytime we made a request it was taken care of ASAP. Really enjoyed our stay.

We just came back from a very enjoyable week at the Royal Kahal right after Tropical Storm Sara. We needed to push a couple of days due to the storm and the Royal Kahal was very accommodating. This is a new building of elegant condominiums that are just being introduced to the rental market. Large rooms, gourmet kitchen, indoor/outdoor patio with wall to wall glass opening doors. We were able to pack for a week in carry on suitcases since they have LG in room washer and dryers, just bring environmentally friendly detergent sheets and fabric softener sheets,or go to the local store to get supplies. There are many restaurants with quality food nearby. The inhouse bar and grill and cafe was not open yet, but from the looks of it, it will be open in a matter of days. The staff is excellent top to bottom and any concerns or questions were addressed immediately. We would love to return!
