This is an inexpensive, basic lodge with permanent tent rooms. The large, fancy lodges in this area are $500+ USD per night so you need to understand you will be getting rustic accommodations for this price. Staff was very nice, facility was clean and the food was acceptable. We were the only guests at the lodge which seemed odd because every other lodge in Kasane was sold out. We found out why when we went to bed. The lodge is next to the village (which you wouldn't know because of tree coverage) and every dog in the village barked the entire night (from ~9pm until sunrise). It was impossible for any of us to sleep because there were 20+ dogs barking. We checked out the next morning and found accommodation elsewhere. The staff told us the dogs do this "almost every night and it is a big problem." I called Orbitz to tell them my problem and be sure I am only charged for 1 night. Orbitz called the lodge and they said I will be charged for 2 nights. Be warned that Orbitz will do nothing to protect you and does whatever the motel/hotel wants, regardless of how unacceptable your experience was. Now I have to dispute the 2nd night charge with my credit card company.
