I sent someone to the hotel twice, but only on the third attempt, after the person asked to speak with management, was the issue resolved. This caused a lot of embarrassment and was an uncomfortable situation.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience booking . I reserved a stay at the Hotel Manhattan by Mercury in Porto Alegre more than two months ago, specifically choosing it because of its pool, which was essential for my three young children to enjoy during a hot summer day. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the pool was out of service due to maintenance. This critical information was never communicated in any of the eight emails I received before my trip. The lack of transparency is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate omission. To make matters worse, I was also informed at check-in that does not include breakfast and that there is no parking included—details that were either unclear or poorly communicated. This experience has completely ruined the beginning of our family vacation. Property in very poor conditions. Outdated, poor maintenance, missing toiletries and not clean (specially the kitchen drawers). And, on top of that, they allow homeless people to join for breakfast. Had to leave the hotel earlier. Glad that Expedia helped me get a refund of the remainder days.

Excellent location close to an upscale shopping neighbourhood with several dining options nearby. All rooms are suites with a bedroom and a living-room / kitchenette including a microwave and a large refrigerator, giving you the option of cooking your own meals. The downside of this hotel is that it is in dire need of refurbishing: we had water leakages in the toilet connection to the wall, and on the sink faucets. The walls, floor and furniture show signs of wear and tear. Management is busy in a slow refurbishing project, renovating one room at a time, which accounts for some noise during the day if you happen to be staying close to that room. If you are lucky, you might get one of the renovated rooms. Mind you: we had one of those, but still had the plumbing issues described above. Service is irregular: some people were helpful, others rude. Apparently they've had little training. The WiFi signal is weak and inconsistent in most rooms (we heard other guests also complaining). Staff have no clue about how to handle it. Breakfast is varied but of poor quality: the fruit, cheese, cold cuts and baked products were all of worse quality compared to other hotels we stayed at in Brazil. The hotel restaurant is much better quality at lunchtime, when it becomes busy with clients working close by; they serve a good buffet including grilled meats and vegetables.

The staff at front desk was awesome. Housekeeping... leave extra toilet paper will you!?! Also, one towel per adult is often not enough. Also you do need to leave new soap and shampoo everyday yes. Breakfast is military time, if you delay you don’t eat. :| Location is good and the front desk staff are absolutely amazing and very accommodating.
