It is a nice spread out of the intense hustle and bustle of the new not yet finished Sihanoukville. And what a wonderful mission to teach the local population about hotelling, restaurant services, welding, and other trades.

The hotel is part of a school where underpriviledged cambodian youth have the opportunity to train in hotel catering. It was good to contribute to this very valuable project, which also relies on the work of international and local volunteers. The hotel could benefit from having a small shop selling local crafts made by underpriviledged cambodian people, as this would both increase the appeal of the hotel and help these people.

The Service was outstanding.... as there are more students waiting on you than there are reasons of need; Big Smile. I would recommend a stay here ONLY if you are looking for a Retreat environment ... of which, it is a good choice. Otherwise, if visiting for sightseeing or the beaches, avoid this facility as it is too isolated and your transportation expense much too high and limited.

This is a well maintained hotel that acts as a teaching base for students training for positions in the hospitality industry. It was a wonderful experience as the students did their utmost to make our stay comfortable. The location is a little remote from town and the beaches but the shuttle bus worked well. Additionally, the hotel helped us locate a motorcycle to hire and arranged for a tuk-tuk when necessary. The food in the restaurant was of good quality and served meticulously by the students. We would stay here again.

We stayed here upon the recommendation of a friend and were completed wowed. The rooms don't look like much in the pictures, but don't let that detour you - they are extremely comfortable and the service is amazing. The hotel is staffed by the students so they are still learning. Sometimes they make mistakes (timing seems to be especially challenging to the restaurant students, but as long as you are patient, it's fine) but they are eager to learn, so it's more endearing than anything else. The hotel is a bit out of the way, it was a 6$ tuktuk ride (after haggling) from the bus stop and an 8$ tuktuk ride to the Royal Pier when we left, but there are well scheduled free shuttles to the beach and into town. We took the 10 am and the 2 pm ones one day and they were exactly on time. We found that the remote location gave the hotel a resort feel that we found quite pleasant. The food is very good. Most dishes are 1-2$ more than in town, but portions are big and the money goes toward a good cause.

We are travelers over 60 who try to find hotels with a minimum review of 3.8. Even though the location was further than we wanted to be from the beach, when we saw the Don Bosco Hotel School at 4.3 we just had to consider it. Our 5 night initial booking turned into 12 once we had spent just 3 nights here. The whole concept of the school providing an opportunity to disadvantaged young Cambodians to learn hotel related skills in a real working environment appealed to us however, we were apprehensive that the overall actual hotel experience might be compromised because of this. It wasn't. Our room was spotless, the food quality was excellent and the staff was happy, always smiling, courteous and willing to help. Our beach location issue was solved by their 3 times daily shuttle service and the big refreshing pool was a bonus. Overall this hotel was a highlight during our 6 month journey through S.E. Asia. This is an experience that should not be missed on a trip to Sihanoukville even if only for a few nights.

A bit far from the beaches. They have a shuttle 3 times a day into town and the beaches. Motorbikes also available for $8.00 per day. Menu at restaurant is limited. Meals are basic, but well prepared. This is a school for hotel hospitality, not 4 star chefs. Rooms are large and clean. The students are eager to help. There is a nice pool with lounge chairs. Die Klimaanlage war muffig und gab Kurzschlüsse ab in der Nacht so das wir sie vorsichtshalber nicht nutzten! Das Abendessen im Hoteleigenen Restaurant war ok. Preis/Leistung mäßig.
