Tara Lodge

Beautiful, peaceful resort for a good price. No one was at reception when we arrived and we didn't get the cold welcome drink we'd been promised. Some of the items on the breakfast menu were missing and my 'cereal and yoghurt' bowl was a bit disappointing - a small bowl of oats with a few cashews and chocolate buttons and a glass of milk. Room was large and clean.

The hotel clearly needs improvement- the bathroom is not a bathroom. The shower is old and impossible to manage, the door doesnt close and the TV doesnt work. When you are on vacation what you want is something that eases your experience. We left the hotel the next day and didnt ask for a refund. We booked 4 nights. Other than that the owners and the staff were very kind.

I loved this beautiful hotel. It is kinda tucked away and idyllic. Very comfortable and quiet rooms; lovely pool; great drinks including the mocktails and home made jam in the delicious breakfast! Couldn’t ask for more! I’d definitely recommend!

Had a great stay here! The grounds are beautiful, pool was so peaceful and calm. Staff was excellent, so friendly and accomodating.

The room cleanliness and bed linen were disappointing. Yellowish and stained towels are not a good sign…the service was however very friendly

Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Bungalows interspaced in a garden of green; beautiful pool; delicious breakfast and menu was first class for a lodge of this size. Staff was helpful; curtious and always had a smile. Highly recommend.

The landscaping and warm pool were fabulous and relaxing. We got excellent suggestions for touring and eating.

The only negative i have was the shower could have been better, it wasn't very powerful and you coukd smell the drains when the water was turned on.

This is a lovely, peaceful place, close to the sea and close to the jungle. The pool seemed a little murky but otherwise the whole experience is delightful. The room was clean, the service was friendly, and the amenities very nice.

Nice Staff and friendly. Room has old fashioned but awesome style! AC didn't smell good. Hose in the shower was too short - had to hold it during showering. Staff&owners gave me super good tips,bike for free. This is a super nice spot to relax and have time for rest. Sandwich was 5$, too much for my taste. But I think the French cuisine is quite good. Welcome drink included - awesome. Breakfast was a little too small for me.

Karine and Christophe run a delightful lodge on the very edge of Kep National Park with access to kilometres of jungle hiking. Free shopper type bikes are available for guest use and were great for exploring the overgrown remains of the old French colonial sector of the town. Staff were very helpful and were able to coordinate tuk-tuk tours of the local caves, salt flats and pepper farms; and travel with Mosa - an excellent English speaking guide.

From the moment we said hello to the owner at reception, it was clear that she did not want our family to stay at the hotel. She barely greeted us, told us that we had booked the wrong date, wrong number of people and still needed to pay. I showed her the paid booking from Expedia with the correct information, but she refused to look at it. I suggested calling Expedia to sort this out, but she refused and told me that we should stay somewhere else. Finally, her husband looked at the printed booking and gave us our room. But, they never apologized or spoke to us during our visit. Their manner was so rude that we could not enjoy our stay in Kep

This is our second stay at Tara. We returned because our first stay was excellent. Love the location. Love the quiet. Love the lodge and the owners! Helpful. Friendly. Living in Phnom Penh, Tara is a great place to come to for rest and solitude. And, it's still close to things! We WILL be back.
