Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel

Great location to everything I wanted to be near.

The hotel is very kool and has a real “artsy” vibe. Everything about this hotel was amazing. The staff, the room, the restaurants, just perfect. We will be staying here again 100%

We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean, the hair products were Kevin Murphy, Nespresso for coffee. Beds were comfortable and I loved the robes. My only two things that prevent me giving a rating of excellent were the dinning and there is no pool. Both hotel restaurants are an Asian infused theme. That was not a good fit for my youngest son. We needed up having to order delivery for him and room service for us. I was disappointed there was no pool. It said there was I believe , it was also listed on the amenities in the room. Other than those two things it was wonderful. Location was amazing, staff were wonderful, decor was very cool.

Don’t waste your money on valet parking, there is a parking garage across the street and that is also where hotel valet parking parks

Very nice rooftop bar, staff was awesome. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. They also have another dining option on the first floor. I did not experience that one but several food options, nearby and walkable to China town and Old port15-20 min. If you are into fitness, there is a Vitamin/supplement store across the street and there’s a Nike store, Also a short distance if you need short, shoes and things of that such. 10-15 minute Uber ride can get you to most attractions for those who don’t fancy walking too much. Clean, comfortable, a touch of class without being bougie! Nice place to stay and feel safe, yet reasonably priced. If undecided on what to eat, be adventurous and ask the bar staff for recommendations they won’t steer you wrong.

Great hotel in a perfect location. Paying extra up front for the breakfast is worth it as it's a sit down à la carte breakfast with a very good selection.

The power point on one side of the bed is just touching the mattress - may result in an accident; Time and again have to ask for tea sachets in the room; No foot matt in the bathroom - chance to slip increases;

Great staff , dog friendly and walking distance to restaurants, bars, Old Town, and other sightseeing places. We enjoyed our weekend stay here with our two pups. The room was spacious too! The rooftop was good drinks and food too. We would def stay here again .

1. Shower malfunction: The water temperature in the shower could not be adjusted. A staff member came to inspect and confirmed that the shower was damaged and could not be repaired promptly. As a result, we had to pack our luggage and move to Room 1102 at midnight, which was highly disruptive and negatively impacted our experience. 2. Leftover tray: Upon entering Room 706, we found a tray with leftover food from a previous guest left outside the door, blocking our way into the room. Even after returning around 9:00 PM, the tray had not been removed. We had to call the front desk to have it taken away. 3. Room maintenance issues: One of the charging outlets in Room 706 was not functioning, and the light in front of the mirror was also broken. 4. No communication from the hotel: We were also told that a supervisor would follow up with us the next day to discuss compensation. Unfortunately, we received no follow-up — neither by phone, email, nor in person — during the remainder of our stay. When we checked out on June 30, we mentioned this again to the front desk and asked why no supervisor had contacted us. The staff member at checkout said she would leave another note and that the supervisor would be in at 1:00 PM and follow up with us after that. However, we still have not received any communication. We also sent an email (see attached) to the front desk supervisor, who has not replied since.

The rooms are clean and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to stores to shop and restaurants. The penthouse bar and restaurant in the hotel is fabulous. The drinks and food taste good and reasonably priced.

In downtown Montreal with shopping nearby on St Catherine Street. Good restaurants, close to the festival locations. The hotel's restaurant was great for breakfast and the roof top bar for evening drinks.

Hello. I wanted to provide some feedback about my trip this weekend and stay at Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel. On June 21, 2025 while trying to nap in my hotel room, the television automatically turned on and was extremely loud at around 430pm. I confirmed that this also happened to a friend who was staying at the property, and also woke him up. I'd like to suggest that housekeeping mute the volume on the TVs so this does not happen in the future. Following this, once I fell back asleep, a staff member knocked on my door DESPITE having the Do Not Disturb sign on my door handle. This was to inform me that the hotel would not have power that night from 12am to 6am and I was provided a glow stick. Also, the room was extremely hot because of the power outage and disrupted my sleep, and my phone did not charge overnight. I have never had to complain in the past about staying at a Marriott property in the past, but considering the poor service on this occasion, I would appreciate some sort of compensation. Staff is courteous & very good. Unfortunately, the pillows are down feathers. I am allergic to feathers & had a terrible night's sleep.
