Bed was comfy with clean sheets. Perfect location. Breakfast is right downstairs. Need to walk up the stairs to the second floor where the rooms are located. I’m very happy with my stay overall.

The free parking is tight be doable. Staff is helpful and has bus knowledge. The place is clean and neat, and there’s an option to hold two keys for the place instead of one. Which is very useful for bigger groups. There’s a diner next door who’s very friendly and the neighbourhood loves and adores the staff there. Very good food

The room was very old. Bathroom countertop had a big chip in it, as well as the tub. It took about 5 minutes to get hot water. There was no free water bottles in the room. Worst of all the room smelled like smoke big time.

Tge best thing about this very, very old building is it's location. Make sure yo upgrade to a larger room to maximize your enjoyment of the location. But there is twenty stairs to climb and no elevator so, not a great place for seniors.

This is a horrible place to stay unless you are chainsmoker or drug addict or something. There is no elevator, hallway smells so smokey it's hard to breathe. We were given room with restaurants exhausts outside so it was noisy and unable to open windows. Rooms were humid, extremely small and feels suffocating. Washroom sink was clogged, towels were dirty. I lost my sleep after noticing few spiders beside bed and spider webs on ceiling. Air-condition is right above head and there was no headboard to bed. No microwave, fridge or even soap in the room. The front desk closes at 11pm so that's no help. Restaurants or front desk doesn't answer calls even in operating hours. Restaurant was understaffed by the time we got food it was cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Nice location though.

The hotel was very clean and the room look as one in a more expensive hotel. However, there was no elevator and we had to carry our luggage on a very narrow staircase. Limited reception time(which they disclosed) made us worry not to açcess the room is any delay happened. It was not the case but we didn't like the risk.

We arrived early and were able to register our car and park it in their lot. We went to our spa treatment and came back and check in early. The staff member who helped us was super nice, we had the smallest room for it was myself and granddaughter, the room was clean and enough for our needs. Beds were comfortable, we had a nice stay. We would stay with them again.

The location is excellent. Close to airport, restaurants especially Jap food and others. No elevators so if you travel heavy, lots of lifting to get to your room. Badly maintained like broken sliding doors, bolt chain, broken phone, etc. The only other good thing about the place is the large size rooms and 3 beds which is good for family.

Note that there are stairs to climb. There is no mini fridge. There is no ice machine, but the neoghbouring liquor store was kind to provide us with a bucket of ice when asked. Morning shower was lukewarm. There is no window screen, so if you like fresh air (as we do) you take your chances with bugs. The paint is peeling, and the flooring has seen better days. There were definitely smokers in our section of the hotel. The room was clean, our bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a great sleep. We got coffee to go from the café (we were told by locals that the food is great, and there was already a lineup when they opened), and it hit the spot. Refills were included! All in all, it was adequate for our one night needs, but I hope more is invested in bringing and keeping a charming, historical hotel viable.

I visited Steveston because my husband lived in Richmond during his school years and spent many evenings in The Buck and Ear with his friends during the 1970's. My husband passed away two years ago this past Tuesday and my plan was to have a drink at The Buck and Ear that evening with him, but found it was closed. I still had an enjoyable evening staying in this historic hotel and will certainly return. The location cannot be beat. A block from the freshest seafood on the planet.

The location was really good for our stay, close to restaurants and sites. The hotel appears to be new owners, who are trying to update the premises. We found the rooms to be clean but dated. The washroom was the worst. The tub surround had some mold in one of the corners and the walls of the washroom were not in good condition. They were bubbling from the condensation of the shower, and could actually see the drywall flaking off in spots. The laminate on the floor was also peeling up near the tub/shower. The sink was damaged in a number of spots. There was no screen on the window and the picture hanging in the room was obviously damaged and knocked out of its frame. We were a little disappointed in the property, it was not "dirty" but could use some care to bring up the level. Staff was helpful when they were there (they double as clerks for the adjacent liquor store). Overall stay would be rated an "OK."
