It's a nice place to stay in and i would recommend it to anyone

It is good

The property is extremely old and the paint is peeling off at a lot of places. While the shower water is running ok , the water at the wash sink is running extremely slow — the column of running water is about the size of a pencil.!I complained to the front desk but nothing was done about it.

Little old property, but this price no complain

I booked one week at the New World Hotel based on the information on the Expedia website. The New World advertisement says they have a restaurant, laundry service, breakfast available, free Wi-Fi and free parking. In fact when I arrived none of these were available. Holy Moly! Here is the good and bad. Here is the short list of good: The hotel is near a vibrant street for foodies; you can get a taxi nearby anytime with a wave of a hand; the rooms are moderately sized and relatively quiet; the bedding in my room was adequate. Now the not so good: The hotel is old; needs better maintenance; the rooms need deep cleaning; front desk staff is indifferent; no food or coffee; no working Wi-Fi; on a street with an elevated freeway above. If you are looking for a hotel on a tight budget and can overlook a lot of stuff, this hotel will be great for you.

The photos are really misleading . The rooms were old and worn out . The carpet in the room was full of stains and a terrible odour .

The one I did like about this property is very quiet place

It was clean and the maids were on top of things. The shower nozzle was unlabeled and takes several minutes to heat up leaving much water and time wasted until hot water came (turn water on too the left). The beds were super hard too. Otherwise clean and comfortable.

Room light very fade, WiFi in room not working...! Complaint so many times still can’t settle.😥

The room that we were in was a non smoking room. When we arrived, there was clearly smoke in the room from the previous hotel guest. When we went to the front desk to ask for a new room, the front desk said there are no rooms available right now and you need to wait. If you don’t want to wait, you can open the windows to air it out. The rooms are clearly nonsmoking and the hotel staff clearly did not enforce it.

Room condition bit old with wear and tear especially ceiling tiles in bathroom that about to fall down (luckily did not), inconvenient wifi system that requures local number to login (could request staff assistance to do so).

About 2am, there are people in the 7floor fighting and banging the doors. It disturbed my sleep. I also saw a used towel in my room upon checked-in. Wifi is on and off and having a hard time connecting. The building is also a bit old. I will not stay at this hotel again.

Everything is good, except it takes too long for hot water to heat up. Hence, the floor seems very cold and its quite chilling in the bathroom

The location is pretty good, 5 mins walk to the nearest metro station (xi men kou). There's a street with lots of local food nearby too! The room is OK for the price. It's generally clean apart from the dirty looking carpet, but can rely on the slippers! Oh and there's even a computer in the room. The staff at the reception weren't very helpful though. And the phone in the room doesn't seem to work/connect to the lobby reception.
