We booked two nights in the cheapest room, but upon checking in seemed to be almost a studio--nice surprise. The room had a small sink, fridge, coffee-making area, a small sitting area with a sofa, desk and TV, the bed and a nice updated bathroom. The sofa was a little shabby and the bathroom was a funny triangular shape, but overall I was pleased and a little impressed by the room. On the hotel description, the free breakfast was not mentioned as far as I recall. Very nice buffet with Western and Chinese choices. Also there was wifi in the room--another surprise. Overall I was very pleased with our stay and thought it was better than the hotel description led me to believe. I'd happily stay here again.

I was happy with my experience at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful the room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet, which was included in the price, was excellent - a vast array of Chinese and Western dishes, plus fresh fruits and salads. This hotel was recommended by a conference I attended at Tongji University so for me the location was very good since it was just two metro stops from the university. For those who come to Shanghai to see the sites, the location may be a bit too far out of the center, though the closest metro line (10), about a ten minute walk from the hotel, is very convenient for getting to places like the Bund.

I stayed in Signature Deluxe on Level 21. Pros: nice view, well presented, very good house keeping service, close to big shopping precinct. Cons: sink blocked, toilet needs 2 flushes to complete, horrendous attitude towards customer especially room service (I called 3 times, only once they were open or willing to help).

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk to Wanda Plaza and other shopping centers with food courts and restaurants nearby. The room I had was on the 17th floor with the view of Wujiaochang Shopping Center. The night view was very pretty. However the room was rather small wirh very dark lights, though it was clean. There was no bathtub, only a shower stall. The hallways leading to the rooms were also very dark. The staff was professional but not too friendly. They only smile to each other but seldom to their customers. It would not have stayed there if it wasn't for the low cost.

Having booked a Queen Suite, the room was well appointed, but the condition of the carpets and upholstery were a disgrace. There are no smoking signs throughout the hotel, which are largely ignored, and getting in the lift after a smoker is just awful. Room service was excellent, as most of the time the restaurant was too busy to use. Having used Holiday Inn on my last visit to Shanghai, I will be going back there next visit. My Ramadas high standards this was a poor experience.

Very reasonable hotel that has been maintained well with updated rooms and suites available for only slightly more money. The rugs showed some wear and tear but otherwise a very, very nice place to stay. The floors are not so large and the rooms are close to the elevator. Nice views of the city and university. My only complaint about the hotel was the crazy prices they charged for the lobby bar. Additionally the night barmaid spoke almost no English and when a customer ordered white wine, she poured it into a shot measure and gave him a shot of wine... you would expect Ramada to have slightly better trained staff especially behind the bar.

Locatioin is mediocre, the distance to public transport is slightly over 1 km, and that's where you'll be going. Being next to a big road (Huangzing Lu) has its sides, getting a taxi is easy but getting to the other side not so. The service in the hotel is weird. Not all of the staff speaks English, although that causes only minor issues. There were just so many minor details disregarded that the overall impression is perplexing. I had a suite, which was spacious and in good condition. however, most of the space was just wasted, furniture was equal to everything else. I'd go there again if I had business very close by, for other reasons, stay out.

I traveled to Shanghai on a whim, without knowing any Mandarin or Chinese characters. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff were fluent in English and helpful as I checked in. The hotel is very similar to a high quality American hotel in terms of appearance, amenities, and service. It is also located in a busy shopping district with a number of boutiques and restaurants within walking distance. The staff allowed me to continue my stay and I felt that the security was more than adequate. I also ate at the restaurant multiple times and the food did not cost a lot, but was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for foreigners who have not traveled in China before.
