Initial arrival at the property was such a weight off my shoulders. The general atmosphere and ambiance is warm and welcoming with nature blooming in every direction. Check in was simple and the receptionist was courteous enough to show me the grounds. The panoramic room was amazing! Everything you need, from dining to adventures & trails, are right on the grounds. Overall it was a great stay and i’m certain i’ll stay again during my next visit to the country!

This property is so so beautiful. You’re completely surrounded by lush plants and trees and just submerged in nature. The rooms are so cute, comfortable and have an open nature feel. I stayed in the mango, luxury room which is perfect for a couple or solo traveler. They have breakfast and dinner available on site to order. During the day you obviously have to go off site to hydrate and eat. Housekeeping was nice to keep your room nice and tidy. The staff was nice and patient if you do not speak the language. I would highly recommend staying here.

Quite a scary drive, we decided to uber for dinner instead of driving as the road up is narrow. It is a beautiful property with a beautiful pool. We stayed at Manzana de Agua, and it was beautifully decorated. A dog barked and barked from 0330 to 0430 AM and again around 0700, echoing into the room. I brought it up to the front desk lady and she said there are no dogs on the property. I recorded how loud it was, and the recording definitely showed that the dog was near the room and it echoed around.

There are many bugs that come into your room at night and in front of your hotel room, they had to leave me RAID spray for the remainder of my stay. The staff is barely present to help with inquiries. The pool and the fountain were very dirty I couldn’t even get in. The bathtub was also dirty, I had to clean it myself. Barely switched out towels. Only good thing was the breakfast and the dinner, as well as the staff who worked at the restaurants provided. Also, nothing is refundable, even if you try to leave before your checkout date so make sure you book accordingly.

This will be my new "go to" when I'm in the area. It's a 10 minute drive to Santa Ana but nestled in the mountains below a coffee farm. It's super quiet, peaceful, and beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The price is right and could not have asked for a better stay! It would be 10 stars if that was an option : )

This was a lovely place to stay. Quiet, beautiful location close to San Jose. The room we stayed in was grand with beautiful antique furniture and large windows overlooking the spacious grounds and city below. Internet was great! Breakfast was served on a gorgeous patio, was delicious with wonderful coffee served by excellent, friendly staff. Exceeded our expectations. There was one big miss for me. There were no fans and the wondows had no screens. Therefore, we had no way to move the air. The bed was comfortable, but I was hot, so I did not sleep well. We dis request a fan, but there were none to be had. I strongly recommend this hotel gets a few fans for the guests like us, who really need them.

This is not a “luxury” hotel as they claim all it has going for it is a beautiful view, but this is barely better than camping out on a mountain top. The pool is not swimmable because of how cold it is, not single person swam during our stay. The rooms are dirty and don’t have real windows or AC. The shower has a tiny little head that pours out lukewarm warm. Every amenity besides breakfast the hotel offers is charged for, $2/bottle of water (the staff laughed about it because they know it’s overpriced as they were telling me about it), $10/robe, $15/person to hike the trail they boldly brag about on their signs and pictures. There’s nothing really around the area to do so you might as well just book something a little further away. If you have an early flight you have to communicate it with them the day before so you can actually be let out of the gate. The day before we woke up at 4am to head to Manuel Antonio and one of the workers blocked us in with his car(they later blamed it on a nonexistent “guest”) and no one was at reception or the gate to even let us out.

Loads of character! Set in the rainforest above a coffee plantation and decorated with unique vintage furniture, this hotel exudes a rustic luxury that gives one the feel of what it must have been like to live in the plantation owner’s house at the turn of the 20th century. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I loved the coffee tour and the claw footed tub with the view out of the round window! The view down to San Jose at night was also spectacular.
