Cleanliness, safe area and great breakfast

Upon arriving at the hotel, it was immediately clear that the surrounding area was not what I had expected, run-down and unattractive something I now realize was mentioned in previous reviews. Being from Florida, USA, I was struck by how much the building resembled a senior living facility, both in layout and atmosphere. I genuinely believe this may function as a hybrid senior home/hotel. The elevator was especially concerning extremely small, screeching loudly as it ascended, and malfunctioning to the point of opening on the third floor while the display showed the fifth. The floor indicators near the buttons were also not working properly, which raised legitimate safety concerns. Based on these observations, my girlfriend and I decided to shorten our stay and check out the following day. When I informed management of our concerns, their response was, “Such remarks are disrespectful to the owners and to my staff, who work hard to maintain high standards.” Sergio largely dismissed the validity of my observations, citing that “other guests are not complaining.”However, just because the elevator moves from floor to floor at a turtle’s pace while screeching does not mean it meets the safety standards set by Costa Rica’s Ministerio de Trabajo y Seguridad Social (MTSS). Room service also uses this same elevator, and I sincerely hope improvements are made before someone gets hurt. On a positive note, the beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was great. Great place - walkable to DT San Jose. Friendly staff and amazing breakfast.

We were able to check in two hours early and allowed to breakfast for a fee even though we weren’t technically checked in as yet. Daily house keeping and breakfast was very tasty & fresh. Love the hospitality of the employees. Front desk helped us with a car rental, excursion and restaurant reservation as hubby and I were celebrating of 25th wedding anniversary. We also used guess laundry. Definitely a pleasant experience.

This property is just as advertised. Very spacious and beautiful. Breakfast was sumptuous with a wide variety of options for different cultures. I love the fact that each room has a large refrigerator for storage microwave and a stove if you wish to cook for yourself. Staff was very friendly. I had a lot of questions initially and the front desk staff was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel

Everything was nice

Fantastic service front desk. Breakfast cooked to order. Terrific Italian restaurant next door. Clean, and filled with friendly, helpful staff I have stayed there in The past and I highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, everything works, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome every morning. I would definitely stay here again.

The property was nice. Good breakfast but the omelettes need improvement. Comfortable master bed. No washclothes in bathroom. Everything else was nice.

This hotel was fine for a one night stay but i wouldn't stay here for a vacation. There's nothing around in the way of shops or restaurants and bars.

People were friendly and helpful. Room was ok except the air conditioner condenser dripped black water on my head and pillow when trying to sleep

Nice staff, great breakfast

Cristina is very professionally run. The rooms were spacious and clean and breakfast included a delicious and filling assortment. The management were so friendly an helpful. Another great feature, it is in an absolutely quiet location and far from the National Museums.

Perfect location! Accessible to everything. Great hotel and Friendly staff. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant there is amazing.

Excellent stay near San Jose city centre with short Uber ride to main attractions. Quiet location, good breakfast.

Great Location, nice Staff

Everything was perfect

We were supposed to receive a welcome drink. The front desk didn’t know anything about it. We had two warm Imperial beers brought to our room. The room seemed somewhat run down. The extra appliances besides a refrigerator and microwave needed to be requested including a coffee maker.
