Hotel Alexandra

Before my arrival, I reached out to the hotel requesting two double beds, as this was one of the options available when booking the Design Deluxe Double room with king size bed on Hotels.com. I never received a response. When I checked in, I found a full-size bed instead. When I went back to reception to ask if this was the room I had booked, I was told it was—but it looked completely different from the photos online. The bathroom was also nothing like what I saw when booking. The listing lacked clear photos and accurate information about the different room layouts under the same name. The toilet had not been cleaned thoroughly, the trash can was broken, and the shower had no shampoo. I requested shampoo, but my request was ignored. The shower space was extremely tight, and the design was completely different from what was pictured—the bathroom unit overall was a total surprise, and not in a good way. The hotel promotes itself as offering a Danish design experience, but in reality, the building feels old and in need of major updates. If you truly want to experience Danish design, I’d recommend visiting a museum or other cultural spaces—not this hotel. Given that this property is more expensive than several nicer hotels in the same neighborhood, I would strongly advise against booking here. Don’t be bamboozled by the marketing photos and descriptions.

Bathroom was spectacularly designed.

They don't actually have AC. It’s more like a fan, you have to open the windows and hope it’s cold outside if not the room will stay super hot. Also because we had to open the windows, it was difficult to sleep because of the noise and brightness.

I love the history of the hotel. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! I would recommend this hotel! Oh! -The final touch was all the information about the furniture on the walls of all the floors!

We loved our Wegner room with his furniture. The reception desk with Aisha and then Lou were friendly, helpful and efficient in meeting our requests. We liked the 5 PM Happy Hour wine and the use of the lobby to wait. We used their bikes for a ride around beautiful Kopenhagen. We will be back.

Friendly staff. Good location for seeing the sights. Train nearby. Hotel restaurant had a good breakfast but not included with room price. Very loud rock band across the street every night from 7-9 which was annoying. Our room was ok. Wooden floor was creaky. No place to put luggage...had to place on floor. Shower was very small but did have good water pressure. Safe in room was basically on the floor, so was difficult to access. TV did not work 1st 2 nights. Phone did not work the 1st night, not sure about the other nights. Doubt I would stay here again.

Service (slow, impolite, would not handle luggage storage) and condition of the hotel (small, outdated bathroom with flimsy shower curtain and poor amenities; dark, with low wattage bulbs and no overhead light) were not to the standard of other nearby hotels.

Staff needs to be better informed about Hop on Hop off and other tourist options. I was sent wrong direction

The hotel is tired and badly in need of a refresh: carpet, paint, bathrooms, mattresses, linens, etc. The bathroom in particular was substandard.

Nice hotel and perfect location for many of the sights.

Good staff. A few issues: 1) odor in room with no ventilation - the only way to cope was to open window (during winter) 2) bad shower pressure - 3) room layout was a bit inconvenient as there was no outlet near the bed, 4) the TV had limited channels and no smartTV capability. Overall, for price it's ok - design and concept are very local and unique. Can be loud if you have a room with view to main street.

I enjoyed the location close to the Tivoli Garden and the walking street plus within closeness to all major sights. Plus a very accommodation staff.
