Chez Manany is a beautiful and thoughtful eco-lodge with pride of ownership. Mariana is so helpful and lovely. She was able to arrange tours at a much lower price than you can find online. Our 6 and 8 year old boys did not have any problem walking the distance to town and no bikes were necessary. The port was convenient for our tours to Los Tuneles and Las Tintoreas- we just met them at the port instead of going to the office. One large bottle of water comes free of charge with the room. The rules are common sense and not at all hard to follow! Of course it is important to protect this diverse and unique ecosystem! If you want to really enjoy the beauty of Isabela in a sustainable and beautiful place, this is the place to stay!

My sister and I traveled from California to the Galapagos to celebrate my 40th birthday. As a biologist/ecologist, and an avid animal lover, the Galapagos seemed to be perfect for celebrating this milestone birthday. We decided to stay on three islands during our vacation; our second island was Isabella and as soon as I saw Chez Manany Ecolodge while looking online for accommodations on Isabella, I wanted to stay there. I love the idea of supporting owners of an ecolodge during an eco-tourism vacation. Plus, the price for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with a kitchen, dining area, and living room, plus all the balcony space, was unbeatable. Upon arrival to the ecolodge, we were greeted by Manany herself (her English is very good), who gave us a "tour" of the features of the ecolodge (such as reuse of graywater [from the shower and kitchen sink] for irrigation, placement of windows and roof eaves to reduce the direct sunlight into the house to lower power usage to cool the place, etc.) and a summary of things to do on the island. Manany's husband was the architect for the ecolodge. During our stay, we told Manany what we wanted from a tour and she made a suggestion that sounded great, so she jumped on the phone with a tour group and made us reservations, and it was the best tour of our vacation. Manany also made us reservations for my birthday dinner and the restaurant provided me a free dessert. Manany is wonderful, caring, and amazing hostess! We LOVED her!

I was expecting a nice view based on the pictures but ended up being on the first floor. That was a little disappointing but it was still a beautiful place to stay with gorgeous architecture, a pretty garden and a comfortable room. A little bit of a walk to food/stores but the bikes on the property made the distance not a problem at all.

Wonderful hosts. Convenient location to ferry and town. Quiet peaceful setting. Manany was very helpful in referring tour guides and local restaurants. We enjoyed the volcano hike, los tunnelos snorkel tour and snorkeling off the local beach.

Beautiful boutique, sustainable ecolodge located about 400 meters from the dock. Close to snorkeling and a short walk to town. This is not a regular room. It is a stunning 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment. Manany and her husband went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, including driving my wife into town in her little electric truck to get some groceries because it was dark. I highly recommend Chez Manany, plus it’s a place to stay where you know you are supporting sustainable living and tourism in the islands.

Gorgeous and peaceful accommodations.. Isabella island offers a lot to see and do. The lodge is a ten minute walk from the pier where the ferries come in and where there is an excellent place to snorkel: Concha y Pearls, You can also see plenty of iguanas and see lions there. Isla Isabella’s tourist infrastructure is a work in progress - which is both good and bad, Not much in the way of tacky souvenir shops — refreshing until you need that perfect souvenir. There is a lot of street construction near the main square and you can see the makings of a nice boulevard in the works. Not a lot of cars on the island so most get around on foot or bicycle. (The lodge is about a 15 minute walk to the center of town which has many good restaurants but a sparse selection of groceries.) Access to the island is limited to a choppy 2 hour boat ride or a new startup air service to Balta island where you can catch a commercial jet. (Don’t be surprised when you get to the tiny work-in-progress airport at 7:15 am and find it completely deserted! The staff and pilot will show up shortly and you will then enjoy 35 minute ride in a 10 seater plane to Baltra. One important tip - many animal watching activities are best at certain tides and a walk by the Sierra Negra volcano is best in the morning as the afternoons get too cloudy.

The perfect place to relax this is a home away from home. Manany was so sweet and helpful. A highlight was relaxing in the Amazonian hammock. It is a 10 minute walk into town and there are some bikes with baskets to use for a food shop.

Chez Manany is just a fantastic place that we only can recommend to others. The apartment is a true Eco apartment that fits perfectly to the vision on Galapagos. The apartment is placed a little outside The City which is a downside on the other hand it is walking distance to Puerto and snorkling and Beach with all the animals you need to see. The hostace Manany is just fantastic. Helped us with planning of our stay, booking trips, and all other we needed. Try this place even tough it is a little expensive.
