The hotel appeared to suffer from under staffing. There was a coach load of tourists overnighting, who were catered for separately. As a result the individual travellers were catered for in the conservatory restaurant. A table booking made before our arrival for 07:30pm was changed to 8:15pm. Having sat down at the table just after 8:00pm our first and only course finally arrived at 9:15pm. The staff serving us were not exactly welcoming and the drinks that sustained us were gained by going to the bar and ordering there. Service was absent. Food was ok, breakfast good. Receptionists were charming

Absolutely spotless in all the rooms we were in. Attentive and pleasant staff. Very good breakfast , nothing was too much trouble. Did not use the bar or restaurant on this occasion. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. Plentiful parking. My only problem was that the bed was too hard for me. There is a bus into Bath which runs every fifteen minutes at the end of the drive and a few yards across the road. Ubers and taxis are plentiful also.

Under bed was extremely dirty. Was directed to the coffee lounge as bar not open and waited for ages for someone to come & take our order. Service at breakfast on the Sunday was poor & we waited over half an hour for our breakfast. Found receptionist on our check in to be rather rude

Perfect hotel and location, positioned a bus ride away from the centre of Bath. The hotel comprised of the old mansion and a newer building, equally as nice. The decor was bright and clean both in public areas and in the room. The room was clean, spacious and had good range of quality tea and coffee along with fresh milk. The bed was very comfortable with lovely linen. The bathroom had quality toiletries and bathrobes. Breakfast was exceptional, with buffet style cereals, croissants, cheeses and meats along with several choices of freshly cooked to order dishes. Overall the hotel, staff and amenities were excellent and I would definitely stay there again.

Reception staff initially a little frosty as we arrived ahead of check in time because we were going to an event. However once we explained that we didn’t expect our room to be ready and that we just wanted to leave our bags they were much friendlier and then went out of their way to find a room that had already been cleaned so that we could go straight to the room

Had a lovely stay. The main property looks just like the online images and is really beautiful however, I’m assuming that most people stay in the building to the left which is less historic. Our check in was easy and even though we were brought to a room with just one bed, the staff rectified this pretty quickly and brought us to a room with two beds, which is what we had booked . Comfortable beds, quiet rooms. I would imagine it’s a little louder in the high season. We were a bit disappointed because The Cloisters restaurant was closed and this was one of the many reasons why we had booked because we were so delighted with how beautiful that restaurant looked. My guess is they do not open it in the winter as the hotel is not as busy. We had dinner in the other restaurant on our first evening there. This was our only negative experience during our stay honestly. The staff were very friendly however we were the only table in the restaurant at the time and our food took almost an hour to arrive, even though we had ordered a simple appetizer and salad. It seems strange to wait so long when the restaurant was clearly not busy at all. But aside from that we did really have a wonderful day and the grounds and property are really beautiful and every staff person we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great! Very close to town and if you don’t have a car, there’s a bus stop right out front of the main driveway.

The room was incredibly clean, fresh milk and a bottle of water provided which was fantastic! The bed was sooo comfy, I had a decent hot shower and the rooms were on the large side which is nice. Room service was tasty and the main was just enough, I didn’t need a dessert. I was full. Service by the staff was brilliant. Full English breakfast was delicious and for once I stayed in a hotel where their machine latte was actually nice to drink. I’ll be staying again,
