Hotel was superb. Pity it didnt sell swimwear for a last minute booking to use the spa facilities. Views were fabulous.Food was tasty. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. They just need seperate trellis for outside balconies for extra privacy. Although alot of renovation going on but did not disturb the stay.

We booked to stay here on our 10th wedding anniversary as the pictures and website looked liked just what we wanted to relax. A spa with swimming pool and treatments available. With what looked like a brilliant restaurant. There was no advertisement of the building works being undertaken. I was contacted two days before our stay saying the swimming pool would not be open as it was under refurbishment and wasn’t ready in time. But they offered us use of the external hot tubs as an alternative with a discount on spa packages which my wife used We started the “relaxing” break by some food in the lounge but were surrounded by workmen building booths. So we quickly left and went to our room. We then used the spa, which again soon became disrupted with the sound of power tools being used. We decided it would be more relaxing if we left and went into Bowness for the remainder of the day. We returned later that evening and went to bed. Only to be awoken at 0630 by the sounds of wheels items and banging in the room above. I’m guessing workmen prepping for the day. We didn’t bother to use the facilities again as the building works were again underway and just checked out and went back to Bowness. I’m sure when the works are complete the site will be more relaxing. But had we been told of all the works upon booking I wouldn’t have bothered. A large price to pay to stay on a construction site.

Having stayed before I decided to book again for a relaxing weekend away with my partner. The spa is the key selling point of this hotel and I was looking forward to spending a good few hours using it whilst we were there. When we checked in at 4pm we were asked if we wanted to pay for the spa to which I said yes. We were told we could head down straight away and it was open until 8pm. We headed down at around 5pm to be told by the lovely ladies on reception that the spa was extremely busy and did we want to come back later. I said we would take our chances as it was the main reason we had come. When we entered the spa we realised they meant full of drunk rowdy guests causing chaos and not actually busy. We decided it best to leave and come back. We came back at 18:45 when we noticed a few of them had come up to the restaurant and were causing chaos in there instead. The spa was quieter but there was still a few rowdy people in there. The toilets were covered in diarrhoea which I pointed out to the girls on reception who were mortified and had quite clearly had enough of the guests that day. The whole experience was ruined for us and we felt deflated that we had spent so much money to essentially stay in a room away from drunk guests who were arguing and causing chaos in the spa, restaurant and lounge area. Don’t think we’ll ever return now which is a shame because the staff and the hotel itself is lovely!

GOOD POINTS Excellent staff from reception, restaurant and bar. Nice size and comfortable bed Plenty of drawers but not much hanging space. Amazing views of the lake from most of the hotel. Plenty of parking Renovatons under was so hopefully better for future guests and believe guests should be made aware prior to booking BAD POINTS. There are alot of stairs thats are single file would not recommend to anyone unable to do stairs Junior suite room 7 was either cold or hot as heating doesn’t seem to be on constantly. The mains water must be situated near room 7 because could hear every tap turned on and every toilet flushed during the night No underlay under the carpet, was cold and felt every deviation in the floor The bathroom was cold as too big for a little towel radiator No shelves in the shower for soaps The amazing view was difficult to see though failed misted windows The patio was just wide enough to fit a chair in The beakfast was served to you with extremely small portions 1 bacon 1 overcooked sausage The spa which had pool and hottub was an extra £20 per day per person and not included with the room Last orders at the bar was called at 10.50pm on a Saturday and nowhere nearby if you wanted a drink The stroll to the water wasnt pleasant with broken glass broken walk lights with exposed wires and a broken pier.

Property is nicely refurbished, clean and pretty. Beautiful view and direct access to the lake from the garden. We had a nice stay. Breakfast could be improved for the price, not many options and missed a proper coffee (machine gave instant coffee). Staff was nice and didn’t charge for our 3 year old’s breakfast (he hardly ate anything), but they don’t seem to have a policy and nobody would/could tell us how much we needed to pay for his, so we only found out when we checked out.

The hotel is located on the main road into Windermere and has its own parking. Check in was fast and the receptionist was very helpful. I was a little disappointed as I didn’t realise that access to the pool with kids is only between 9am - 1pm so we had to move our plans around and take the kids the following morning. The room was fantastic, it was spotless and very spacious. It was nice and warm and included all the necessary essentials to make it a comfortable stay. The leisure centre is impeccably maintained and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Would highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to use again in the future.

Hotel undergoing much needed upgrade. Arrived in car park to maintenance vans and building materials. Strangest entrance from car park to reception, all upstairs through rabbit Warren of corridors. Hotel right on main road and next to residential houses. Can’t go for nice walk from hotel, have to go out in car. Walked down garden at back of hotel to lake and it’s extremely tired and in need of work. Not safe to allow my children to play. Boys wanted to play in swim pool but only allowed in 9am-1pm at additional cost each. Couldn’t justify additional spend when all they wanted was quick pool play and NO hotel I’ve EVER stayed in has asked for additional payment for pool access. Could be nice hotel, reception, lobby / restaurant and our bedroom was recently renovated but whole hotel needs doing! Noise from footsteps above our bedroom was annoying also. I couldn’t confidently recommend this hotel

Beech Hill Hotel & Spa has set the bar for a wonderful and safe hotel in the Lake District! The staff were outstanding from start to finish. I was blown away by our room which was an upgrade. The facilities are wonderful. The hot tubs outside with a lake side view and a swimming pool that is not too cold. From the robes in the rooms to the bar and restaurant. The car park alongside a bar was having work but we didn’t hear a peep from our room. And our room was super modern and clean and beautiful. It is February so a good time of year to renovate. The outside could do with a lick of paint. The staff were what made our stay special. I asked for some water and the lady was generous. We felt like very special quests. The restaurant catered for my allergies as well. Thank you for the best stay and we cannot wait to come back!!

Booked two nights got told we could only stay one. Then they charged us. £250 for apparently smoking in the room, was didn’t once smoke in the room, we smoked on the emergency exit pop the room, as lady member of staff said was ok to. No photographic evidence or proof. Then we had to move to the sister hotel and wait two whole of hours for the roll which wasn’t ready till 3pm waisted four hours all in all. Won’t be returning at all. Staf member was super rude to me too. Said he’d phone the police if I didn’t pay my fine

Really nice hotel, spa was nice. The suites could use some upgrades (the windows) there was water between the glass panels so the view couldn’t be enjoyed as much as it should have been. Especially when the heat was on full as it was -3 and it was just cloudy window panes.

I was impressed by all of the staff within the hotel, even when I asked if they could organise hiring a tuxedo for the evening they were able to arrange everything... Also I'm so surprised with the beautiful smells in the room/shower/ carpet was so clean like i have no enough word to describe this hotel. It’s a lovely lovely hotel.

Was very disappointed to arrive and be charged an extra £40 to use the pool. I had missed on Expedia as not filtered for a pool as a spa hotel, just for breakfast. when booking a pool is always included in the booking price if available, otherwise I would of booked another hotel. I booked to relax in a spa and the hotel sold to me by the hot tub overlooking lake Windermere, the weather was awful to use the tub outside, my partner has asthma so not keen on saunas so was not going to pay £40 for a swim. Also the day of arrival was my birthday so plans were spoilt. We paid a fair bit for the one night and extra for breakfast so wasn't going to budget another £40 for a few hours in the spa. The Hotel and reception was lovely but I feel using facilities should ne included in the advertised selling price and not as extra at this price as the facilities are already there at no extra cost. This was not the much needed break I had planned. Caroline
