Great location for catching the train. Area seemed a bit unsafe. The room was outdated but the best shower in all of London. Would stay here again only for convenience of the train. Expensive for type of hotel.

We checked in too early so they were kind enough to hold our bags so we could go out & about. He gave us a map with a good explanation of the top spots to see today & tomorrow. The room was quite nice with a storage closet. Tea kettle & Walkers cookies were enjoyed every night. Next door we had breakfast that was good. The walk to train station is only 10 min. The open market on Wednesday & Saturday is to the left then right at light. Plenty of food choices there. It closes up about 5pm. If you want to really save money go to the tourist info place on Broad & sign up for the free walking tour given twice a day 11am & 2pm. This hotel is safe & so convenient to tour Oxford. Highly recommend it!

A twin room on an upper floor, furnished with South Asian sensibility with lots of mirrors and an ornate sink in the bathroom. The only "complaint" would be that the windows were high and small, making it feel somewhat claustrophobic. ... oh, and the price. I'm sure it was on par with the rest of Oxford, but for a place that felt a bit like a hole in the wall ...

This is not a five star hotel (I was aware it wouldn’t be but the pictures gave the impression it might be a four at a stretch). I do not know why Expedia has listed this hotel as five star and what they were basing it on/why they are allowed it to be listed as this. It’s perfectly serviceable and clean but it’s a three star at best. The price is far too much for what it is, even when discounted. There is a very basic reception area, no food is offered, no bar or restaurant. The decor is very odd, particularly in the rooms. The hotel only accessible by a small door directly off the high street into a tiny lift with paper labels stuck next to the buttons indicating where to go, and an odd laminated welcome card. The gentleman on reception was very nice and booked me a taxi for the next morning which was there waiting for me.

Quite an odd set up at this establishment as there isn’t any communal areas and they don’t do any sort of food offering. It doesn’t therefore meet the description of a hotel to me. My room was a good size and in a quieter part of the building. It had a fridge, tea and coffee and decent toiletries. I slept well and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean enough. How they are rated 5* is beyond me…5* hotels don’t give you plastic cups wrapped in plastic in the bathroom. Expensive for what it is, but then Oxford can be on par with London for cost in peak season. Doubt I’d return if visiting Oxford again, but I wasn’t disappointed as such. The receptionist tried to take a copy of my ID which was odd as a British national. I refused to allow them to make a copy.

Very centrally located, everything within walking distance. Quite a small room but very comfortable. Not all rooms have windows, we did, but could be a bit claustrophobic maybe if you were going to spend a lot of time in your room, but excellent as a base for seeing the sights. No restaurant or bar, but brunch bar just next door excellent and discount for guests of hotel. Lots of bars very close by.
