A great choice of hotel to visit Bath. Lovely, large and comfortable bedrooms, excellent decor and atmosphere and good dining. Plus a very nice spa. It's about a mile's walk into the city centre, but a very enjoyable one!

Room was not clean on arrival with Malteser and popcorn wrappers in draw. Mirrors not clean on sliding wardrobe and bathroom needed to be cleaned around toilet room, with a constant tap drip! Staff were excellent when approached! The ladies in the Spa were all very good as well as the bar staff!

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I booked 2 rooms a twin for my elderly parents and a deluxe room for me and my husband. Where do I start? My parents room was on the 1st floor hallway smelt of damp carpet stained, their room was at the front of the hotel and overlooked the beautiful countryside, well thats if they could see out of the window..the glass had blown so they couldn't see out, the air-conditioning didn't work instead they were given 2 fans! The room was dated and tired broken bathroom tiles bath cracked and had nail Polish on it. The spa is terrible it reminds me of a local leisure centre, very tired, and dirty the indoor pool needs a deep clean, the steam room had lights missing so just bare holes in the roof and the seating had loads of tiles missing and sauna and salt rooms don't work properly, the outdoor pool was filthy the tiles need a deep clean the pools need money spent on it..the outdoor area has various broken floor tiles so you cant walk barefoot outside. The whole hotel needs a makeover, the breakfast is below standard. My honest opinion is spend the extra money and stay elsewhere, we were very disappointed..I will be sending an email to head office of the hotel to complain!

The property is nice but the spa area in particular could do with renovation, we stayed to visit Bath town which is lovely- I would however be disappointed if we had booked the hotel for a spa break.

Disappointing bathroom, mould around the bath and lots of chipped paint. They only service your room if you put a service sign on the door handle which we were unaware of and did not have the appropriate sign provided in our room. In my opinion, not up to the 5 star rating.

Overall this is a good hotel very clean and in beautiful surroundings. The room was adequate and again kept clean and tidy Our disappointment came on the first day when I ordered a full English Breakfast at just gone 9am and had to chase the waiter twice before it was delivered at nearly 10 am- I did not bother again after that. The next day I ordered a beer and cider- both were sold out but in fairness the replacement was free of charge

Lovely setting, good location, nice room. DEFINITELY NOT 5 STAR. I believe it used to be. It’s not now. Staff on the whole very useless, don’t seem to know what’s what. Despite rooms being ready no check in allowed even 11 mins early. No valet yet signs for. No concierge yet signs for. Spa is very far from 5*- mould growing and smells damp. Used tampons from previous guests in bathroom bins, rubbish in corridors, every other guest complaining. We experienced several several issues. And only got £100 back in compensation. It’s like faulty towers!

My room wasn’t ready when I arrived and had to wait until 4:15pm for my room with a child and health issues after lengthy traveling. Not enough trowels in the room. Air conditioner in the room broken. Reception Toilets messy with no toilet paper in them. Breakfast a massive disappointment. They are basically trying to save money on everything and it make it unpleasant for the paying customer.

It was not a five-star experience and maybe a two-star experience at best. But, they had air conditioning during the heat, which did smell moldy. This place needs maintenance. But I do believe one day thirty years ago it was a five-star hotel.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice grounds and beautiful restaurant. Hotel is a bit tired in places and I would say that's all that lets it down. Overall had a very nice stay and in a great location.

The hotel has a very much a 5-star feel, reminiscent of something out of Downton Abbey. The building and public areas are grand, and the complimentary Elemis toiletries were a nice touch. Unfortunately, my room had several issues. The toilet seat appeared to be broken, and the bathroom layout was poorly designed. The bidet was positioned extremely close to the sink, making it easy for personal items to fall into it. The sink tap was also awkwardly placed, making it difficult to comfortably wash both hands. Although the room had a television, there was no remote control provided, so I was unable to use it. Breakfast was disappointing and felt more in line with a 2-star hotel. The selection was very limited and lacked the quality and variety expected from a luxury establishment. The dinner menu was also misleading. The dessert was advertised as a chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream and honeycomb, but what arrived was a chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream and butterscotch popcorn instead. Overall, the hotel has an impressive appearance and some luxurious touches, but several aspects of the room, dining experience, and attention to detail fell short of the standards expected.

The hotel one of the best in Bath and it was not our first visit. The hotel has a fine ambiance - maybe some redecoration is needed- a good pool - attentive staff - and a great British Breakfast! Good parking and a good walk into Bath

The hotel is really well positioned to explore Bath on foot. We stayed 3 nights. Our experience could have been better - overall it was ok. On arrival, we discovered a used towel from the previous guests hanging on the back of the door, and a half eaten apple was in the fridge. We asked reception to come and sort it out, but had to return to ask them to do something, before the desk clerk turned up and chucked replacement towels on the bed three hours later. It was ok, just not great. The following evening, (admittedly a very hot day) we noticed the air con in the room was blowing, but not chilling. Another trip to the desk to ask what they could do, the answer was nothing. A porter was sent to press all the buttons, and advise us on how to complain. A very uncomfortable and sleepless night. I was advised to email, but couldn't find contact details, and my chat requests on the booking app remain unanswered. The good things about our stay were: the Spa is really good. The gym facilities were warm, but well set up, and there was always space to work out. The pool was large enough not to feel crowded, and the external pool was really pleasant (warm!). The gardens are really nice. The communal spaces felt well appointed and looked after, and there was a huge TV showing world cup matches, which was good. The buildings are grand. I guess my reflection was our experience didn't match the billing.
