What Guests Say About Their Stay

Pam

This hotel is located in an amazing location with Poole Harbour to one side and the sea to the other, both accessible from the hotel. The staff are polite and professional. The housekeeping is impressive. Although the building is looking a little tired, the ambience, staff members and service make up for it. Breakfast is as expected with variety on offer to cater to most dietary requirements. The dining/eating area could be made a little more attractive as the layout seems rather formal. However, the friendliness of the staff makes up for this. I’d definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel in a prime position. View from the room was beautiful. We had a sea view and could see the sun rise from our bed. Breakfast in the restaurant was very nice with plenty of choice. We used the restaurant in the hotel which was an Italian. Although a little pricey, it was very nice. Room was cleaned daily and tea/coffee and biscuits replenished daily. We didn’t use the pool as it opened at 9:00 and we wanted an earlier swim. We were offered use of their sister hotel but didn’t use that. Not far from attractions such as Compton Acres and Poole Harbour for the ferry to Brownsea. All staff were friendly. I’d highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Stay was good and the breakfast was great with check in staff being vey helpful. The only real issue I had that put a dampener on the stay was when I first went into the room it absolutely stunk of s**t really bad. I can only put it down to one of the cleaners using the toilet after cleaning the room and not having the curtisy of opening the windows before leaving. I had to open the windows wide and spray the room and leave for 10 minutes. Not expected for such a nice hotel and paying good money for a stay.

Staff were excellent. Had to move rooms as ours was on the 3rd floor and we could hear noise from the pipes. The hotel is a bit tired in parts. A bit too SAGA holiday for us but generally our stay was pleasant.

We had a lovely 3 night break at Sandbanks Hotel, Poole to celebrate my husband’s birthday. This hotel is right on the beach, so suited our needs perfectly, We were given a lovely room overlooking the sea & right next to the lift (which made things easier for my mobility issues) The staff were most welcoming & friendly. We will be back.

Room was a disaster for £1000+ for 3 nights. No bathroom had mold, a broken shower fitting on the wall so water leaked everywhere and the whole thing should have been updated 20yrs ago. The bedroom was ok until we realised we could not open the window without the ceiling tiles moving up and down with the wind with dust falling down. Cleaners didn’t come back the first day after we asked them to. 2nd day called reception and asked if they could clean room etc before 2pm, had to call at 3pm and asked if they could send someone asap. 6:30pm they came to clean which meant having to move our toddler out of the room just before dinner/ bedtime which was not ideal they also didn’t clean and forgot to leave toilet roll and showering products so had to come back again. They also had no beach towels for guest apart from ones you had to buy for £15 each and the towel was no good quality. Overall very poor

Couple no children July Always wanted to stay here , easy parking on the beach . Initial impression was of a Tired Hotel that lacks identity … great shame ias it has a fantastic location … our room had a great sea view balcony but with a children’s playground directly below ! The room was clean but had a dated feel. The restaurant had great views but the food was basic . My partner and I went for a marvellous swim in the morning across golden sand and we ate a good buffet breakfast with a fabulous sea view although obscured by a big wooden shed ! So potentially 5star amenities but delivered (apart from the beach ) a very 3 star experience !!! Would I go again ? …. I think there’s better in this location for the money we paid !
