We stayed in The Chapel Room, which was beautiful, so unique - with stunning stained glass windows, very spacious, gorgeous decor/furnishings and a super comfortable, large bed. The hospitality/housekeeping staff are all extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was delicious and served by a smiling, friendly and helpful team - we always receive excellent customer service, thank you. The breakfast room/restaurant and resident's lounge are lovely to relax in too.

A beautiful hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Our room (the Bamburgh) was large, bright and very comfortable. There’s a great choice for breakfast and for dinner (with my gluten intolerance catered for brilliantly). The hotel is literally opposite the castle with stunning walks on the doorstep.

Luxurious hotel with beautiful rooms. Bed was super comfortable and huge. Gorgeous immaculately clean bathroom with rainfall shower and free standing bath. Leigh was so welcoming, helpful and professional. The Bistro staff were also great. Lovely breakfast selection. Great location. Lots to do and see nearby.

Beautiful hotel and room, in a great location to visit Alnwick town and Castle. Leigh and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. We didn’t have our evening meal at hotel (though definitely will do on our next visit!) however the breakfast was delicious with a great variety to choose from.

Lovely hotel and very nice staff. Very conveniently located in the town and for visiting the castle. We gave 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) although they allow dogs in the rooms, they're not allowed in the breakfast room so they suggested we either left our dog in our room on her own (which we did and she barked continuously) or we breakfast separately - most places have a dog-friendly eating area; and 2) parking is quite a challenge. Otherwise, a lovely stay.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Cookie Jar in Alnwick last night, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The hotel itself is stunning, blending charm and elegance beautifully. Every detail is carefully thought out, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner of the hotel felt immaculate, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff were truly outstanding—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring that our stay was perfect. They went above and beyond in every way, making us feel really welcomed and valued. Overall, our time at The Cookie Jar was simply wonderful, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, well-kept place with amazing service, this is the place to come ❤️

Fabulous stay in a former convent no less! Individually decorated rooms and loads of extra touches to make your stay enjoyable. Excellent service and a wonderful breakfast (the restaurant also serves afternoon tea and dinner - we didn’t sample those but would guess they would also be lovely). The hotel is very close to a pedestrian entrance to Alnwick Castle, so is a great base to explore the castle and gardens. Parking in Alnwick seems to be free everywhere, but take care as some is time limited.
