Lovely pub - we had lunch one day and the food was amazing. The staff are all really friendly. The room itself is a little tired but fine for one night.

Chose this stay to break a long journey and what a great choice. Had a nice meal and a few beers, so much nicer than a generic travel lodge, plenty of character and nice surroundings. Room was clean and functional with decent Wi-Fi for my needs.

Pub grub was excellent we even had steak and ale pie made by their own chef rather than bought in as a frozen meal. The main downside is that the pub occupies a very small building with two guest rooms the one we stayed in was located above the kitchen. This was not a problem at night but in the morning someone used a large mixer just before 6 am for about 15 minutes. There is no breakfast available at the pub and no eating utensils or plates in the room. There are no local restaurants where you can have breakfast so be prepared to bring everything you need for breakfast. The manager made it clear that no breakfast could be provided.

Comfortable & Clean, slightly cold upon arrival but a few mins with the heater on resolved that, in general it was great value for money with Donkey picture on the wall (I donate monthly to the donkey sanctuary) & heilan coo’s in the bathroom (I’m also Scottish) only negative was the sound proofing from neighbouring rooms, the snoring !!! Gosh ! However, it was more homely than you’d have realised, thank you.

Really nice looking room, however just needs some TLC, especially the shower extractor which was filthy. Staff just told me where the room was and didn’t explain anything especially how to turn the shower on. Really quiet at night and had a great sleep

Very dirty room, dirty sheets, dog hairs everywhere. No WiFi signal, smelt of dirty chip fat which wasn’t surprising since it was stored inside the room. Absolutely would not recommend which is a shame as the pub itself looked nice and village was lovely. Member of staff on check in was pleasant but didn’t have time to complain or relocate to an alternative hotel given short time I had after arriving before heading out to meet colleagues for meal. Very disappointed
