Lovely warm and clean room. Comfortable bed. Pablo and John were excellent host nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was made with quality produce and tasted superb. Pablo's home made jams were a special and unexpected treat.

The Lions is amazing its ran by 2 amazing guys their customer service is 2nd to none the place is clean and retains some of the original features which only adds to the charm the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is one of the best ive ever had

Pablo and John take great care of their guests, and produce wonderful breakfasts. It is probably the best place to stay in Newark.

Only a brief overnight stay for an event on Saturday. I felt very welcome and very well looked after. Excellent breakfast in the beautiful garden. It’s my first time in Newark but I’m tempted to come back just to stay here again. Spacious room, excellent facilities and lovely hosts.

This is a lovely Georgian (?) house with a beautiful garden. We had a spacious and comfortable room - and the breakfast was just what we wanted, with porridge, fruit and eggs on toast. Recommended

John and Pablo were so hospitable, it made our overnight stay in their beautiful property memorable. Both our bedroom and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location wise, it was perfect for easy walking into Newark and we had a good evening meal at Oscar's Inn just a 3 minute walk from the property. We had a superb breakfast which was cooked to order and were offered as many refills of our teapot as we wanted. We highly recommend a stay at The Lions. Thank you John and Pablo for looking after us so well.

Absolutely lovely B & B! John and Pablo made us feel so welcome and also offered us a welcome drink in the garden. They cooked us a very tasty English breakfast, gave us a delicious fresh fruit salad and as much tea, coffee and toast as we wanted. The house is beautiful and our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and overlooked the beautiful garden. We would happily stay here again.

John & Pablo are excellent hosts. Very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty. We would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend the property.

This was a perfect place to stop in Newark. The owners welcome you so warmly and you feel like you are family whilst there. The room was so lovely and the bath was wonderful. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the homemade marmalade was excellent. We certainly will go back there again.

From the moment we arrived and the welcome we received until our departure; John and Pablo were perfect hosts.Their attention to detail is exceptional. They have the most beautiful and tasteful home which is a privilege to experience. We enjoyed a most delicious breakfast before leaving for our onward journey . Me and my wife had a wonderful stop over at the Lions. The accommodation is beautiful,with many original features maintained in the decor. The rooms were clean and tidy with lots of charm.John and Pablo were perfect hosts,being kind,welcoming and very helpful.Breakfast was lovely and some nice options on the menu.I had a traditional breakfast,and my wife having scrambled egg and salmon. Both were cooked and presented really well and were delicious! Will be returning in the summer to enjoy the delightful cottage garden in the back in full bloom!

We had such a wonderful welcome from Pablo and John and the service could not have been better. Great location only a few minutes walk to centre, lovely comfortable room and great breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely be back if ever in the area.
