We had a fantastic stay at the Woodvale. The food was excellent and despite it being a very busy time (just a few days before Christmas so lots of big parties) we didn't wait too long for our meals. We had a lovely, en-suite family room with a sea view. There was a sofa and coffee table too which gave us another space to sit, rather than just the bed. Even though there was a busy bar downstairs, we couldn't hear anything upstairs in the bedroom. We weren't disturbed by any noise. A definite bonus when you need your 8 year old to go to sleep!! The staff were exceptional. As I said, we stayed just before Christmas so it was busy with locals and parties but nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was so welcoming. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Woodvale to anyone and we will be booking again for another stay here! Thank you Steve and the team!

Nice property in good position. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room nice and clean. Over bath shower nice and powerful.Food in restaurant in the evening ok but far from fine dining. Some dishes ok but fish and chips a little tasteless. Breakfast was much better. Overall the price for bed and breakfast staying in a double room with seaview was very good.

We have used this property over several years and really like it. The staff are friendly and the rooms have been improved over the years. This year the Wifi has been upgraded and is far better. We stayed in room 5. The plumbing is good, but the shower head needs attention.

Great food menu for lunch and dinner, great views and easy no cost parking. Breakfast arrangements in the week could be better - only one on when we were there , so a long wait. Staff are friendly and they make a good atmosphere in the pub.

We arrived on particularly hot day and all parking was taken for at least two miles away. We were told at 6pm we would not get parked as beach users would not move on…. So come back at 8pm. We came back at 9:10pm and it was the same. We parked on “no parking” bins area of hotel. We were advised that was ok but we would have to move before 7:30 am. The parked cars cleared at 9:45 and we moved the car then…. Just as well as it was rammed again by 7am the next day. This spoiled our enjoyment of the hotel, I could not have a drink and relax until after the car was parked. Same thing happened 2nd night. Not what we expected and we certainly would not have chosen here if we had known about the parking nightmare. The room was in attic level and was like an oven. The fan did nothing to cool it, we got little sleep either night. The shower had no cold water flowing so we could not use it. We would have been scalded. We reported this and on out return on day 2 we found it the same. The Manager assured us it had been looked at and came to the room with us. It took her a good 5 minutes of fiddling to get any cold to flow, again not acceptable for £150 on B&B above a pub. Great position spotless, Breakfast was excellent a real high spot. we cannot recommend based on difficulty parking, lack of properly working shower or heat in the room. We did raise all of this with Management but no adjustment to price was offered. We felt it was vastly overpriced for the experience.

Perfect location to enjoy Gurnard Bay, literally across the road, and to walk into Cowes. Woodvale is a busy pub with a large beer garden. My room was at the back of the establishment and it looked out over the beer garden, but I was not disturbed. Once the sun had left the higher terraces that part of the beer garden was empty. There is no parking but they kindly let me put my bike in the keg yard which gave me additional security. Breakfast was well presented with a good choice.
