Unsafe, Filthy, and Neglected – A Nightmare Stay
I recently stayed at the Weaste Hotel in Salford, and it was hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We only stayed because every other hotel in the area was full or over £200; had there been any other option, we would have left immediately.
The room was in a disgusting and hazardous state:
• Filth & Biohazards: The room stank of stale smoke, the carpets were stained on every inch, and the place was thick with dust. Most revoltingly, the bathroom cupboard contained used cotton buds and a used pregnancy test from a previous guest. The sink was also blocked with used cigarette butts.
• Safety Hazards: A light fitting had been ripped off the wall. Most alarmingly, scalding hot water comes out of the system when you flush the toilet, which is a genuine burn risk.
• Zero Privacy: There were no curtains, and the blind was broken and couldn't be closed.
We felt so unsafe and dirty that we had to go to the shop next door to buy our own cleaning supplies just to make the room somewhat usable. We didn't even dare get under the covers and spent the night sleeping on top of the bed sheets.
Management should be ashamed to charge money for a room in this condition. It is unsanitary, poorly maintained, and a total health hazard. Avoid at all costs.
