White Hart Hotel by Greene King Inns

Lovely stay , i booked the family room for just 1 night. The room was very clean and comfortable.

A beautiful location, wonderful friendly staff and wonderful cosy bedroom with the most comfiest of beds. Enjoyed our first night so much that we booked for another night.

Very relaxed and comfortable stay.

Had a lovely couple of night's at the white hart. On arrival there was ample free parking, at reception there were happy, smiling faces. Everything was explained and check in was very quick. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped with everything you need. Bathroom was bright and clean with a bath/shower. The bar/restaurant staff were extremely pleasant and quick to get your orders through and on the table. Menu was nice and the food was great and reasonably priced. Location was great for my needs.

Wonderful very old building with very helpful friendly staff. A building this old can’t be in perfect condition but they do their best. Very helpful with food when we were a little late arriving.

The room was small and in need of TLC The cistern was very slow to fill, there were rawlplugs and holes over the headboard, the back of the wardrobe was coming off and dirty marks on the wall below the window

Lovely old property but needs some TLC

The hotel is full of character and had a good selection of beers. We didn’t eat there as we’d been out during the day and had an early start in the morning. Staff were helpful and friendly during check in and in the pub area. Corridor up to the bedroom was small and wonky which was part of the charm of such an old building but just something to be aware of while carrying luggage or being a little infirm. Our room was very small and a bit tired looking. The wardrobe was cheap and the back falling out. The wall lights had been changed so there were gaps in the wallpaper. The new lampshades had been burned by the lightbulbs so was a little bit concerning. The room was very dark and better lighting would certainly have helped with moving around such a small space. The bathroom was tiny - and needed some tlc and updating. The shower pressure wasn’t very good and it quickly got steamed up with nowhere to vent out to. It was ok for one night.

Nice and helpful staff but the hotel is run down, my room was not very clean, the toilet was leaking, the bathroom needed a good upgrade. It is a shame, 10 years ago it was a very good hotel but today it seems to be run by people who wants the money without investing in their hotel...

No breakfast , staff walked out

The only downside was the lack of choice on the food, I asked for 3 of the options on the light menu, not avaiable and 2 on the main menu, the same.

I booked this because it was in my corporate price range, it had parking, food and hotels.com advertised it as having air con. One of the hottest days of the year and I am told upon check in, we don’t have air con??!! To be fair reception gave me 2 fans but I was terrified they would catch fire so didn’t leave them on at night. Food was below average and getting out of the car park with all the work vans was tense, a 28 point turn eventually got me out. I wouldn’t stay there again despite the staff being friendly and accommodating.

The White Hart is incredibly charming and in a great, central location in town, close to restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and were very amenable to helpimg get us fed when we had a late check-in. The food was delicious at dinner and breakfast. Our room was very charming and, like any older building, had its quirks (the floor was very sloped and the water pressure in the shower was pretty low). Overall, the hotel was great and served our purposes well attending a wedding in Coggeshall.

The White Hart is a lovely hotel and pub set in the charming village of Coggeshell. We stayed bed and breakfast for 2 nights. The manageress, Nicky, and her staff were welcoming, pleasant and friendly. Our room was clean, inviting and quiet; the bed was especially comfortable, and we slept well both nights. We really enjoyed our breakfasts, there was lots of choice for both the continental style and the cooked breakfasts, the food was of good quality and plentiful. We can heartily recommend staying there.

Ok place but photos on website makes this look better than it is. A bit tired, poor bathroom facilities and bed was uncomfortable. Staff are nice enough but evening meal was average. Positives - Breakfast is good.

Good, clean acoomodation and the pub downstairs seemed nice. Didn't spend much time in the room as we were at a weddong, but thr breakfast was the best I've had in a longggg time!!!

Food was over priced and underwhelming, drink prices were higher than any other place that i have stayed at. I would definitely not recomend this hotel to anyone
