For £60 a night I had a clean and comfy bed, a hot shower, and a tea and coffee station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a little noisy and crooked, but it's an old pub with normal pub hours so that's to be expected. I'm a female in my early 30s travelling on my own and I felt very safe and welcomed. Obviously this is not the hotels fault so still rating a 5, but just make sure you have a decent car to get there as the route is very steep and goes through a mountain range. The only suggestion that I would make is to make the breakfast hours start and hour earlier for those wanting to beat the parking at popular hiking spots. Also, after hearing a few conversations, it was not clear on the hotels.com site wether breakfast was included or not. I did pay for mine when I was there and it was only £10 so not a big deal anyway.

Food and service amazing (pizzas a must!) Bathroom in room lovely Bedroom good size and spacious unfortunately bed was already broken before we arrived, whilst staff members did all they could to resolve the issue with a temporary fix, as they were fully booked it resulted in very uncomfortable night sleep before our ascent up scarfell pike, this wouldn’t put us off staying again as location was lovely. Hopefully rooms will be better inspected going forward to ensure fit for purpose.

We stayed for one night at the Woolpack. Lovely location, nice food, very comfy beds. Our only downside was breakfast. It starts at 0800am, a few guests had arrived then and sat down. Staff did not seem ready. Still bringing out juice, milk, glasses etc… Did not take food order until nealy 0815 and the food did not arrive until 0845.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great - breakfast is a belly filler and the hand made pizzas were very tasty. Stayed for 2 nights at a room rate of £100 per night, plus the dog for an extra £5 per night. Disappointed that it wasn’t made clear that the breakfast was charge at an additional cost of £15 per person each day and this wasn’t displayed or shown on any documentation. The second night stay was disrupted by a hen party staying in the pods next door as part of the overall site and the music was loud, with sirens and attendees screaming over microphones until just after midnight, disrupting our stay. Had a good days walking around the local area. Sadly - won’t return.

Excellent service at our 4th stay. Foods brilliant and theres alway good beer and gins etc at the log fire heated bars. Room was warm and bed really nice. Hot shower was also good with its downpour in a jungle type fittings. Room2, right by the stairs but not at all noisy. Weather was wintery but its winter... wasdale is a great place and just round the corner. Avoid langdale pass, the tarmac is appalling potholed and none existent in places, i know it like the back of.my.hand. wrynose was still fab though and at 5pm on valentine's day.. there was no other traffic.
