Johan Spa Hotel

The property had nice pools with various bonus features, a spa pool, saunas and steam rooms. The spa pool needs a hand rail for older patrons. The breakfast was good. I didn't eat the eggs because they had spinach imbedded in them. Our room was small with limited seating, but there was various public seating.

Comfortable hotel, friendly staff. The room was clean and well presented. Nice small pool/spa complex. The breakfast buffet offered lots of options including local specialities. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. We would happily return to this hotel.

As a repeat client I am always treated with respect and positive welcome. Close to center of town and easy walking. Highly recommend

Nice spa hotel, great location, great breakfast

We with our family were staying at hotel only one night but it was very nice stay. Hotel has sauna access with very nice sauna and we have used it twice - at evening and in the morning after breakfast as my daughter loves sauna a lot. Room was quiet small and equipped with foldable chair and staff provided us extra foldable bed which was good enough for small kid. It also had TV with Netflix availability which is very good bonus. Sauna vas very nice as it was all together and there was special area for kids with their own stairs where water wasn't so deep and it was possible to sit in sauna and take a look after kids while sitting there. Parking was possible in territory but it was occupied already so we left car on the street which was quiet convenient and very close to main entrance of hotel.

Service and spa was great with outdoor pool and saunas. Room was modern, but at the beginning beton walls and ceiling looked a little bit scary, but without curtains and sunlight it was better and not so disturbing. Breakfast buffet was great, variety of choices that tasted really good. They also had free parking in hotel parking places or street in front of hotel.

The staff were polite and helpful, breakfast choice was vast and the Spa area was good. The children loved the pools and hot tub. Having an area within the main pool for children was a clever idea we'd not seen before. The temperature outside was around 21 degrees but the room was really hot with no evidence of air con so could not cool it down and the corridor on the third floor was even hotter like being in an oven. The room appeared clean, however, on the first evening I found a large chunk of cucumber skin on the floor and it wasn't ours! We stayed three nights and the room was not made up, bins emptied etc. after the first night but was after the second night. Only one bin was emptied and the cleaner took the bath mats and some of the towels but didn't replace them so we were left with not enough for each person. The room not being serviced was fine for us and we were out a lot. I would have expected a superior room to have had a fridge and coffee facilities but neither were provided. It is a nice hotel and we had a discounted rate but some things could be improved.

Johan Spa has excellent location, walking distance to main city centre street with shops and resturants. Hotel was clean and all was acceptable. Little tired and worn out bedding and towels were dissappointing, though they were clean. Quiet hotel. Nice little outoor yard with small pool.

Friendly staff, great breakfast and super convenient location. However, the bed was not comfortable. We asked for a queen size bed but got two single beds next to each other. Also the sauna doors had opening at the bottom making it almost impossible for the sauna to heat up. It was also not possible to close the curtains in the shower due to how they are hanged.

It was pleasant. The breakfast excellent. The pool and spa quaint and peaceful. The location central yet feeling provincial. Overall no complaints whatsoever.

Convenient hotel if you are driving a car. The spa was lovely and the room was clean overall. Breakfast could have been better - take your own black tea bag if you’re a tea drinker. Overall, it was ok for a small town. Everything is within walking distance.

Safe, Clean , comfortable , reasonably priced, ideally located and great customer service . Many amenities suited for all .

Overall quality of the hotel is very good but there are some little things that bothered us and which do not allow you to say it is excellent. Firstly, we could hear literally word by word what was going on in the oppisite room. Suppose the sound came through the vent. Secondly, no aircon and no heated bathroom floor. That resulted as a smelly room as you step in, also none of the towels dried over the night. We were given two XL robes for the spa, both were worn out. If you reserve a room for 2 adults and a one-year-old I suppose you don’t expect both adults being 2m tall :). The restaurant is far too small for serving breakfast, when we arrvived it was overcrowded and the kitchen was struggling to keep all the food out and served. The quality was really good though. On the other hand there were plenty of things that were well thought of - I really liked the bar in the courtyard, spa was nice and cosy, ouside pool area was great. The interior design was modern yet cosy.

My husband and I went to Kussaare as part of a trip to Estonia. Our adult daughter came with us. Overall the Johann Spa Hotel was a good place to stay. It is central to the attractions and restaurants. Most of what we wanted to do was within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was ample, although my daughter and I are vegan so our choices were limited(bread, jam, peanut butter, salad) They did not have non-dairy milk for coffee or cereal even though it is available in several restaurants. The one criticism I had is I booked a room for three adults and the extra bed was not good for an adult. It was a pull out chair that sagged at the top so it was not comfortable for my daughter. She wound up booking another room. When I spoke with the manager I was told that the room we got is one of their largest rooms. That being said, he did reimburse us for the extra bed for the two nights we did not need it. Overall, Iwould recommend the hotel, but not for more than two adults in a room

Good location - close to town centre. Nice room and spa, good breakfast Spa is not the biggest but it has different pools, saunas and jacuzzi

Very nice and close to everything. WiFi is a bit dodgy in the rooms so there is soem improvement there.
