I really enjoyed my stay in Giellajohka.The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and peaceful and there was almost no light pollution.

Amazing location, great food, no light pollution, great views, nice people. Everything about this place was fantastic.

Excellent property and very kind hosts.

River view stay very relax and quiet

Interesting place but not my type

We stayed at Giellajohka for 6 days and wished we had longer. It was magic. The river cabins are cozy, warm and have a substantial kitchen. We enjoyed the in cabin sauna and the beautiful floor to ceiling window meant we enjoyed the aurora from our bed while having a cup of tea early in the morning. The property is run by Anita and her son Jouni and they are actively involved passionate hosts. We loved them and all the staff. The activities were well run, relaxed, intimate and so much fun. No mass tourism to be found. There are beautiful walk, ski and snowshoe tracks from your doorstep and all the gear to borrow. The food was good. We loved reindeer soup and the breakfasts, especially the pancakes with jam. Yum! Don’t hesitate booking it would be impossible to regret a stay here.

Amazing service, beautiful property.

If you want to enjoy the pure nature next to a river in the middle of nowhere the place is the best option. It is very calm and clean and the staffs are super nice.

The people were really friendly and they made us feel right at home. Food was great especially the heavy breakfast, the apartment was clean, and the resident kitties and doggie were really adorable. The only comment we have is that the pillows were a bit small/low and the beds were too soft but this is based on one’s preference. We prefer firmer (and higher) pillows and memory foam beds (again, based on preference). All in all, our stay was lovely and we’ll definitey be back here again!❤️

Wonderful place surrounded by beautiful nature. We stayed in the Fisherman’s cottage which was very clean and comfortable with a view on the river - super nice! The restaurant was lovely and the owners, as well as the rest of the staff were friendly and great. We didn’t have breakfast but it looked delicious and plentiful. Would stay here again anytime!

It is ok, very nice place

I really loved the place! We stayed at the fisherman's cottage, and it was so comfortable! Good view to the river, where you can also swim! Breakfast was good and filling as well! Over all a very nice place to stay, would definitely recommed!

Atmosfera magica

We felt at home right from the start. The surroundings, the peace and quiet, the food, the possibility to hire skis and snowshoes, the friendliness of all the staff and of course the northern lights and reindeer right on the doorstep. Simply a dream. We would love to come back and have already recommended it to others.

レンタカーでないとなかなか行けないような場所にあるホテルでしたが、思い出に残るとても良いところでした。本当におすすめです！！ 1.お部屋について コテージタイプで寝室には大きな窓がありオーロラを寝ながら観察ができます。 お部屋の前には湖があり、真っ白な雪が積もった景色は格別でした。 キッチンも付いており、ケトルや電子レンジもありました。また、そのほかにもお皿やキッチンペーパーもあったのでお部屋で自分たちの好きなものを食べることができたので良かったです。ホテルの周りには何もないので、もしお部屋で食べる場合は事前にスーパーで買っておくのが良いと思います。 バスルームはトイレとシャワーが一緒になっています。シャワー後は水びたしになりますので、宿泊される方はビーチサンダルが必須です。 2.朝食について 15ユーロで食べることができました。 利用する場合は当日に支払いをすればOKです。 温かいメニューがあったので、嬉しかったです。 3.アクティビティについて ホテルの敷地内にトナカイファームがあり、チェックインの時にトナカイの餌やり体験を申し込みました。30ユーロだったのでリーズナブルでしたし、とても可愛らしいトナカイたちに癒されました。もし申し込みをされる場合は午前中の時間がおすすめです。夕方は夜のように暗く、お顔があまり見えないからです。 4.サウナについて 予約制でフロントで申し込みが可能です。 サウナの外には水のプールがあり、温まった身体をそこでリフレッシュすることができます。 5.オーロラについて ホテルの方がwhat's upのグループを作成しており、日々のオーロラ出現の可能性をこちらでお知らせしてくれます。残念ながら私たちが宿泊した2泊とも見ることができませんでしたが、それ以降も登録したままでいると、他の日はとても綺麗なオーロラがバッチリ見えてました！次に訪れる際はもうすこしゆっくり滞在したいです。人気のようなので、長く滞在を予定している方は早めの予約をお勧めします。ほんとにホテル以外は何もないところなので真っ暗な中でみれる環境は最高だと思います。

キャビンは清潔で、十分な広さがあります。家の中の暖炉を使えるので、冬でも部屋は暖かいです。部屋からは満天の星空とオーロラを見ることができ、とても贅沢な時間を過ごせました。私たちは二泊滞在し、一日目にはとても強いオーロラを見ることができました。 貸切サウナも広く、温度は90〜100℃くらいで、フィンランドまで来るサウナーにも満足できる温度で最高でした。レストランもとても美味しく、特にローカルフィッシュがおすすめです。 近くにはハイキングができる道もあり、退屈しませんでした。初心者コースでも結構な体力を使います。さらに、私はハスキーサファリを予約しましたが、これも最高でした！ぜひ一緒に予約することをお勧めします。雪の積もり方にもよりますが、今年は11月25日からサファリができるようになったとのことです。ただし、日本語の説明資料は不自然な日本語のため読めませんでした。英語が苦手な方は事前に予習していくことをお勧めします。 宿の方もとても親切で、フィンランドに行く機会があればぜひまた行きたいです！
