Grand Hôtel de L'Univers

The ideal location and strong air conditioning, the hotel was a great place to stay during Roland Garros week. The staff was friendly and helpful!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The room was clean and a good size. The staff were excellent. They were very helpful and friendly. They also offer a good breakfast for €15. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is close by the Louvre and Notre-Dame Cathedral. You’ll never get bored here since the area is filled with restaurants, cafes and shops. I liked the style of the hotel and the location. The room was very clean. I also appreciated that there was an elevator for transporting luggage. My only criticism is that our room was extremely small (little to no room on either side of the bed) and our view was to storage/construction area. We tried to get a bigger room but hotel was completely booked.

The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Big plus…we were there during an unusually hot week in May and our room had a fantastic air conditioner.

The staff was excellent. The hotel was great for its location and age if the building. Nothing special but conveniently located to so many places we wanted to see

Overpriced with the tiny room ( but they claim it's an expedited price, we should book directly from the hotel

A great room if you want to be in the middle of it all on the Left bank. You are steps away from a dozen resturants and bars. It's very busy and very touristy, but you are only a few minutes walk from Notra Dame and the Seine. The room is small, but that is to be expected considering its location. The staff was nice, and very helpful when we checked in. The room was clean and tidy. We were happy with the room.

Perfect stay

Breakfast and location great No air in room, but hard to leave windows open due to the noise. Bed was comfortable, shower was nice but on a swivel-would not stay in place and water would constantly shoot across bathroom. Very friendly staff!

I was booked for two nights but ended up leaving in the middle of the night. The room was extremely hot, stuffy, and quite small. It was on the first floor and we didn’t feel comfortable opening the windows, so there was no real way to cool it down. When I spoke to reception, I was told the AC wouldn’t be turned on until later in the month—even though it was around 70°F in Paris that day. The room was simply not livable, and after trying to manage it, we had to leave and book another hotel at our own expense. The receptionist took my details and said someone would follow up, but I never heard back. No apology, no attempt to make things right, and no refund—not even for one of the nights. This is the first time I’ve ever walked out of a hotel stay. I travel frequently (30–50 nights a year), and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.

No bar other than mini bar which was fine.

Lovely little hotel in a perfect location. The elegant interior design made the place feel special, and the staff were very welcoming. We didn't try the breakfast, but there were so many restaurants on our street we didn't need to. This was our first time in Paris, and we loved being able to walk to most of the things we wanted to see. The only negative comments I have was was that the bedspread was a little stained (the sheets were nicely cleaned), the bathroom faucets were a bit old, and like many European hotels, there wasn't much space to set luggage. Other than that it was great, and I would stay here again.

The walls in this hotel are so thin. Our next door neighbors came back passed 1am, and talked loudly. We can hear every single words they say, in addition to the slamming of room door. Did not sleep well at all. Room has no ventilation as well. Stuffy.

Excellent and exceptional location. The room was small but cozy and had everything we needed. Very good layout overall. We won’t hesitate to stay there again.

Incredible stay!

This hotel provides a quintessential Paris feel in the best neighborhood in the city. The hotel sits on a side street full of restaurants that come to life at night - but don't carry the feeling of a loud bar. The classic windows that face the street offer a birds eye view of the magic, but it's not noisy at all with the windows closed. Rooms are small (welcome to town - that's everywhere right?) but make up for it in Parisian beauty and character. Beds are comfy and the bathroom is large (bring shampoo and conditioner unless you're ok with a soap/shampoo combo). Desk staff was always there being accommodating if needed. I could not think of a more wonderful place to stay!
