We have had such a lovely 2 night stay here - myself, husband and 15 year old son. The room/breakfast area/restaurant were immaculately clean. The staff were kind and friendly - we speak very little French (sorry!) but they spoke English to us, thank you. Breakfast was delicious and catered for everyone - love the French bacon! Beds were comfortable. Was good to have towels/comfy beds/fridge/kettle with tea and coffee and bottles of water/TVhand soap/hair and body wash. A lovely view over the rooftops towards the sea in room 40. Peaceful and relaxing. The pool/sauna/steam room/jacuzzi were fab and we thoroughly enjoyed using it all on both days. Will will return! A delicious dinner at the restaurant also. Thank you so much to all at L’Escales and thank you for the phone call to say we had left our sons pillow and water bottle there - we were en route to the ferry and couldn’t come back to collect ! See you all again soon. We highly recommend this lovely hotel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gabriel at the desk was very helpful and professional. The facilities were superb. We loved the spa and pool. The room spacious the separate toilet and bath area was great for our family meant while in the shower the use of the toilet was free. Shame there was no availability to extend my stay. We will visit again.

The hotel is in a great location, very quiet and safe. The part of the hotel we stayed in was rather dated. The pool and spa was excellent although the 5pm restriction of children is too early. The restaurant was mediocre, poor menu for kids. Staff pleasant but little English. The Hotel reception staff were brilliant.

The hotel is well placed for a short break or stopover close enough to the channel tunnel or port but has much more character than the big chain hotels in Calais. You can walk down a quiet access road to the beach (steep ramp) or the cliff path. The restaurant is across the road and has to be paid for separately - the €18 menu and house wine are perfectly acceptable or there is a good choice from the more expensive menus or carte. We had a superior room which was well presented , including a small fridge. A big negative for us was an incredibly hard bed which did not make for a good nights sleep, also the bath towels are tiny. It was a ground floor room with parking outside and wide level tiled shower which would be very accessible for people with limited mobility, though the restaurant across the road is less so. The staff are pleasant and welcoming, although when we arrived the reception desk was not manned. There is a good size car park behind the hotel. We did not choose to have breakfast. There is a kettle in the room with a couple of coffee sachets. At the time of writing- October 2018- the village is undergoing a massive infrastructure investment and the coast road is blocked, you have to approach from Peuplinges. This is scheduled to continue to April 2019.

The location was just what we wanted. The ability to walk for miles to get away from the bustle of city noise. It was just unfortunate that they were digging up the road outside our bedroom window. Also we followed the diversion sign which turned out to be a mistake as we couldn’t access the hotel. However that is not a permanent feature.

The hotel was comfortable and very convenient. The local area is stunning scenically, with a beautiful beach five minutes walk away. The hotel staff speak English and the restaurant was very reasonable. I would not think twice about returning to this hotel, it’s great in my opinion. The Channel Tunnel is a five minute drive from the hotel, so I am sure we will be staying here again next year.
