Really nice location. Very central to the Latin quarter, the Parthenon, Mouffetard street and the island with Notre Dame. Room size is as ok as possible given Paris. AC was working so-so. Small elevator and good size stairs. The breakfast is alright, very nice service, but good could have been a bit better or varied. Many other options within 5-10 minute walk.

This was a very nice hotel. There was a heat wave and the air conditioning in the room was excellent. It did break the last day but it was cooler by then. Breakfast is very good. The location is busy, somewhat noisy with many students from the Sorbonne plus alot of tourists. There are bakeries, restaurants, etc right near by. THe hotel is very close to the Seine and no more than a 10 minute walk from Notre Dame. My only concern is that it was not that close to a useful metro stop. There is one a block or so away but it did not go anywhere we needed. We always needed to walk about 10 minutes to the Jussieau station. (You could change trains to go to the closer one). I would have preferred staying closer to a good station since we were using the metro several times a day.

The Oratio is in a wonderful location in Saint-Germain, within walking distance to restaurants, charming bakeries, the metro, the Latin Quarter, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and more. We stayed 3 nights in a balcony room and really enjoyed having coffee outside in the mornings with the sunshine. After our tour, we also stayed 2 nights in a superior room. Both rooms were cozy and comfortable. The front desk staff was wonderful — always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There is also a complimentary 24/7 coffee and tea station with several selections available, which was a nice touch. One thing to note during our May stay was that the air conditioning was not available. We later learned you can request a fan for better air circulation if you prefer not to keep the window or balcony door open because of some street noise. “We loved our stay at The Oratio and would happily stay there again for the wonderful location and exceptional staff.”

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Oratio. I ended up getting sick right before arriving, but the staff was kind and caring. June, one of the front desk employees, made me lemon tea with honey to help with my cough and checked in days after to see how I was feeling. The rooms were very well kept and clean. The location of the hotel is superb with great food at walking distance. I would highly recommend Hotel Oratio to my loved ones.

Alert! If you are at all sensitive to hot temperatures, don’t stay here! Although it says it is air conditioned, that is very misleading. The air conditioning cannot be turned on until the heat is turned off for good. The days were in the 80’s F and apparently at some point there might be a cold snap, so they would not turn off the heat and switch to air conditioning. Also, when the air conditioning finally is turned on, it is controlled by the front desk for all units at once. When you open the windows to attempt to get some air in the stuffy rooms (no fan in bathrooms), there are no screens, so we got a flood of bugs! Be prepared not to sleep if you can’t when it’s hot. Also, way too loud to keep windows open the whole night. Now, for the good, the cleaning staff is very good and make sure they do a good job. The breakfast is wonderful, as is the hostess that works it. Delicious fresh French pastries every day. Espresso machine at breakfast and also complimentary in honor bar, with a water dispenser with chilled water. Trust me when I say this is a rarity in Paris. Location is excellent.
