Cute property located very conveniently close to the train station. Staff were very nice and offered a free room upgrade. Breakfast was fantastic definitely worth the money. Room had a view of the inner courtyard garden. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again!

Parking is 3 blocks away. No elevator made carrying our 50 pound bags to the fifth floor very challenging, not to mention the up and down 4 times a day. Room is also very very small.

The location was perfect, close enough for a 10 minute walk to munsterplatz but far enough away from old town to be easily accessed by car. The hotel was small, but had a distinctive charm. We especially enjoyed the hotel garden for reading.

Very comfortable, quiet hotel five minute walk from main train station and less than ten minutes to Altstadt and Cathedral. Also close to Freiburg’s main concert hall and the Jazzhaus. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff. Will definitely stay there again when I am in town.

I would love to let be this property. At the same time I don’t want to leave a bad review as I know only a few rooms are affected. First off, the staff and the location were absolutely lovely! However, when I arrived I realized my room was directly next to the front desk. There was no separation door or anything else to keep noise out. This wasn’t a problem until I wanted to sleep in a little later. And about 0630 the breakfast crowd started rolling in. From that point on, I heard EVERYTHING going on in the lobby. I think as long as you aren’t in those few rooms next to the reception area, you’ll have a fantastic stay!

A very well run family hotel close to the railway and the old city in a quiet street. A good size room for a single. The bed was firm which I wasn't used to but soon adapted. Be aware there is no lift but help is there if you need it.

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Barbara. Just three minutes walk from the train station and a very easy walk into the town center, the location was perfect. The room looked out into their beautiful garden and was very quiet. A few things in the room needed repair (safe and exterior blinds) but it wasn’t an issue. The staff was lovely and they offered a very nice breakfast. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Very friendly and accommodating receptionist. We arrived later so there was a nice courtyard to sit with the wine and snacks we brought and receptionist brought us plates and napkins. Simple and clean...very close to the train and bus station but you didn't hear much noise. Also right around corner of our go-to Italien restaurant. Would recommend and stay again.

The hotel is very well located; close to the train station and a short walk to the city center. It is in a quiet neighborhood so a good night’s sleep is assured! The included breakfast is a to way to start off the day and a cocktail in the garden is the perfect way to end it. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. There is not a lift so carrying luggage up the stairs may be a concern for some; if so, request a room on a lower level. The air conditioning in the room is top notch (who says you don’t need air conditioning in Europe? Climate change is happening! Every summer sees heat waves in Europe now). All-around great experience. Hotel Barbara is highly recommended!
