Victor's Residenz-Hotel Gera

The checkin was really unprofessional, nothing was prepared, all data had to be filled out again on paper, the staff was absolutely not welcoming. They did not even inform me about a 25 EUR early checkin fee upfront. They gave me a room right above the smoking area. It smelled and was noisy. At the checkout they claimed I had breakfast. Never did and never ordered it. The front desk staff was not welcoming or friendly at all. Not what I expected at this house. Poor!

Not exactly in downtown but some 12 minutes away walking. The hotel is average, with nothing to complain about. The free breakfast buffet is above average for similar German hotels. There is a paid parking structure and free parking outside or on the street.

Excellent hotel,ten minutes walk from the main railway station (HBF). Tram stop also just out side hotel. Excellent staff, very welcoming. Wish I had more time there.

Dining options were limited but quality of food was very good and generous. Excellent breakfast buffet. Room was quite big but appearance and amenities were only average. First reception associate was very rude, refused to check us in, claiming that room wasn’t ready. She completed check in with other guests though. After waiting 2 hrs sitting in the lobby, the next associate checked us in with no problems. Very strange behavior.

Breakfast and bar is a convenience. They have beer vending in garage. Bathtub was nice since it’s been windy, cold, amd snowed a bit during our stay. Overall everything is expected from website.

Rooms are big. Good place to stay centrally.

Novotel Gera is a very modern and nice location to stay in the streets of the old houses in Gera that reminded a bit to the streets of London from their style. It was a comfortable room with a clean shower room, unfortunately nomore a swimming pool inside instead of it a fitness room as I got to know. There is a little nice terrace beside the Hotel with a Restaurant to drink or eat something during the stay. The Hotel was really a beautiful modern Location in Gera and very near to the Station, Museums, Theater and open air concert Location. Thanks for this nice stay for one night in Gera.

This place don't have the Air conditioning so summer time its going to be hot.

Very nice hotel. Large rooms. Very well lit and clean bathrooms. Comfortable bed.

The room I had had a separate lounge area and a tiny kitchen unit. It was spacious and quite comfortable but the room and the hotel in general had no atmosphere. The decor feels old fashioned and slightly depressing. This was fine for one night but I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Room service was extremely limited so I went out to a restaurant nearby. There are a couple of restaurants near and a supermarket so that was handy.

a rainy day here on a stop over before the trip back to the uk. The facilities are good nice bar restaurant and pool with sauna. The room though has no aircon so was a bit too hot to sleep even though it was raining outside. left the windows open and the trams kept us awake but excellent value including breakfast and easy to park in underground car park. Top Up with food from the Netto next door for the rest of your journey.

The hotel is pretty good. Location close to downtown but not both , is a quiet area . Breakfast very good . The only comment is that the proportion of the room with the bed is not aduacuada in size and location. Good WiFi and can park for free.

Good hotel that was willing to accept packages (a key for business travel). Parking lot is a bit treacherous, but per day fee is reasonable. Very good breakfast and convenient location.

we have stayed here twice now, each time between 3-5 days, with our 17 year old daughter and my parents (68) have also stayed here. The purpose was to combine business and pleasure and visit the city and family and it was the ideal place in Gera to stay at. The booking through expedia was cheaper than the rates with the hotel directly and booking was easy and efficient. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, helpful and open to any questions we had about local transport etc. which was so useful to make a short stay comfortable and effective. The breakfast buffet was a true delight and there was nothing left to be desired, the coffee was excellent and being able to make your own waffles in the morning was a dream! In the evening we often sat in the garden area of the restaurant under a large tree and watched the sunset. Th selection of wines has something for everyone and the food is absolutely amazing. An artistic feast for the eyes and a fusion of traditional and modern, inventively combining flavors and textures. The restaurant staff were also outstanding in their service, courteousness and friendliness and their ability to advise on food and wine and also ito accommodate small unconventional requests. With multicultural and multilingual staff present, any guest will feel welcome here and we certainly did. ***** well deserved.

The hotel offers a convenient overnight stop if you are making a long journey with young kids. It offers spacious rooms, and catering for children. There is also a swimming pool to keep them entertained and to let off spent up energy after a long day in the car.

Stayed for two nights during a business trip in a reasonably priced double room.

Comfortable, with a very high Quality/Price ratio. Very good restaurant and excellent breakfast.

I enjoyed my short stay. I stayed in an executive suite which was very reasonably priced. This included a free minibar and Wi-Fi. The beds were comfortable, and when I asked for the bedding to be changed as I am allergic to feathers, they were very efficient in the change over. The restaurant was serving a "Buffet" style dinner which had a good range of salads, hot dishes and desserts. Even though it was not "Fine Dining" for 19 euro it was very reasonable. The parking was adequate, and the general appearance of the hotel was good.

We found the hotel very conveniant as it was about halfway between Munich & Berlin. Gera was also a pretty and worth exploring. The hotel was clean, large rooms, good service by staff & had safe off street parking.
