Fantastic Hotel, conveniently located close to Shek Mun MTR station which gets you around easily. There are 2 Shopping Plaza next to the MTR. A 7/11 convinence store in located at the ground floor of the hotel. This Hotel also has one of the best All You could eat buffet in HK, evening meal is a must as the food variety is top class.

Room was clean & comfortable, particularly the mattress. Shower was amazing. Staff friendly, professional & efficient. Shuffle bus to nearby Shatin was handy. 10 min walk to MTR & local shops/restaurants meant food wasn't an issue. Could've done with an iron in the room, hence the reduction in star for facilities.

In response to Hong Kong Government's COVID-19 Response Measurement, there are limited opening hours of all our facilities. Gym access is by appointment only. Restaurants are opening on limited hours. Be sure to check with front desk upon check-in for the latest information. Our hotel has always maintained high hygiene standards and has stepped up our hygiene program in view of the recent situation. A series of precautionary measures have been implemented to provide facilities at the highest hygienic standards for our staff and our guests. For instance, increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection at all public areas, guestrooms including washrooms, lobby area & guest lifts, provide hand-washing facilities and sanitizing gel and remind guests and hotel associates the importance of personal hygiene measures. We will continue to closely monitor development of the situation. Caring for our staff and guests is the long-standing belief of ALVA HOTEL BY ROYAL. In view of the recent situation of Novel Coronavirus Epidemic (official named: COVID-19) and to ensure the safety of our staff and current guests, the hotel does not accept any guest who needs to "self- quarantine" at this stage. Also, all guests are requested to have body temperature checked and hands’ disinfection at the entrance when entering the hotel and need to fill in a health declaration form while checking in. The hotel reserves the right to seek all remedies available by law for any false statement.

there's only a 7-11 convenience store nearby. Love the cleanliness (daily room cleaning service), warming act of cleaninng lady who replaced the duvet for us with a thicker one. Shuttle bus driver and front desk staff were all very nice. They helped us to upload and unload baggages to the shuttle bus

Hotel is perfect for those who prefer to stay away from the busy part of town, while enjoying the convenience of wide variety of restaurant options nearby and easy access to public transportation. City bus to and from airport stops right at the hotel. MTR station and minibus stops within 10mins walk. Hotel is clean and well maintained. A plus was the self-operated laundry room on the 3rd floor.

The bus stop from HK Airport goes directly to the property when you take the A41, making the trip from the airport a breeze.
There's a lovely river accessible by pedestrian tunnel without having to cross the street, though crossing the street is not bad either. The River has parks that are open from 7am to 10pm for a nice walk / exercise. (I did 7 miles along the river each morning before shops opened)

The location is excellent that is walkable to city one and its train station.
The room is clean and tidy and quiet
The view is very nice
The pillows are excellent
My mum told me that buffet is very good value for the money. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to try this time. I definitely want to try on my next trip.
I definitely will revisit again.
It will be excellent if the hotel offers some kind of rewards program for regular guests.

Beautiful hotel. Very tall ceiling with nice views of the mountains. Had a terrace on the 3rd floor where I brought my 1yr old to exercise. Rented a bicycle to side along the river as well, very scenic ride. We will be staying in the same hotel again next time.

Almost everything was very good. The concierge and front desk very helpful. Check in was good. Room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping very good.
Only complaint, which unfortunately was very unacceptable for a 5 star hotel, was a very bad sewage smell in the shower stall drainage. The smell was only present in the evening (does not smell at all during daytime). It's pungent enough that when you are showering, it smells like you are showering in a sewer. We stayed there for 7 nights. We made complaint on 2nd night and they did try to fix it. Never really improved and by 3rd night we had enough, kids did not want to go into shower at all. Hotel did apologize and switched us to a different room. The bathroom was much better but still not perfect. The shower stall had a constant cigarette smell (hotel is supposed to be smoke free).
Other than this very unpleasant experience, the hotel was very good. Unfortunately, this is still something that the hotel really needs to address, even when everything else was very good.
